TRIMMING with HE Gyro?

That’s what I do. Have the gyro plugged into a channel that you can turn ON/OFF with a switch and/or have the master gain on a rotary knob. When the knob is full counter-clock wise, it’s as good as OFF. Do your trimming with it OFF. Then you can turn the gyro ON. If you needed a lot of clicks to get it trimmed, then once you land, turn it OFF again, note where the control surfaces are, put the trim back to neutral and manually adjust the rod so the surface looks like it did before you centered the trim. It’s OK to fly with a “few” clicks of trim but a lot of trim should be manually taken out.

ON/OFF only needs a 2-position switch. You can, if you like, NOT do the rotary master gain and instead, use a 3-position switch for gain. It all depends on where you plug the gain into and how you decide what to use for it.Originally posted by RCROBERT View PostGood info and I do have a 3 pos. switch on radio for the gyro. Thks
