  • Eagle A3-L V2 Elevator input keeps reversing

I have the A3-L v2 in my little Arrows Bae Red Arrows Hawk.
Whilst it seems to work very well, I’ve noticed that the elevator input once set to the correct direction works for a while and then decides to reverse direction. Luckily I’ve noticed it before flying otherwise it could have been disastrous ( tail moves up- elevator moves down). I really need to check it carefully before every flight.

How long is a "while"? Every flight or every few flights?

Not every flight, but I might do 4 flights in a day. The next time I go to the field I’ll probably find it reversed and have to reset it. The ailerons seem fine and always work in the correct sense once set.

That being the case, I think you have a unit that is unreliable and defective. Although I've never had a HobbyEagle of any kind do this, I know someone at my field who did. He no longer trusts HobbyEagle. That's a shame because on the most part, these devices are very good. If yours continues to do this, you should throw it away or see if you can get a refund or replacement.
I only asked about if it happened every flight because if it did, I would then ask if you are sure that you properly exit the programming sequence after setting the gyro direction on any particular axis. A proper exit is quite important for the device to secure the last program change.
Not directly relatable, but lately I've been doing a little programming of HobbyWing ESC and they have a goofy sequence where you must power up, power down and power up again before programming. When finished, you must ESC, power down and power up again for it to hold all the settings. Each kinds of these devices seem to have their idiosyncracies.
