    My Super II arrived today in pristine condition.
    ​I'm going to install it in my Great Planes P6E Hawk.
    I can't wait to try the hover feature and all of the rest of the fun stuff!

    Does that plane actually have enough power to do a prop hang (hover as they call it). I have these HobbyEagle gyros in my planes and the ones that can actually hover are the FMS 1400mm Pitts and the SebArt Mig 29 twin 70mm EDF. The hover mode works impressively well but I can't get the "balance mode" to work very well (I may be doing something wrong). The stabilizing features of these devices work wonders for flying in winds and cross winds and buffeting winds. Landings look way better.

      My Hawk has this much power:



      ​I've been using Eagle Tree Guardians for some time. They can be fussy to set-up and the PC interface is not intuitive.
      I'm hoping the Super II will allow me to focus more on flying than computer programming.

        I've had the chance to install the Super II in my Hawk and get a few test flights in.​

        For many, setting up a gyro properly can be a daunting task.
        The manual for the Super II is in Chingrish. However amusing, it's quite clear and easy to understand. Possibly the best Chingrish manual ever written?
        Either way, it's actually far superior to most English manuals that I've read.

        I've found that the software for the system is not compatible with Windows 10. However, this is a non-issue, as the field programming card covers the set-up with great alacrity. The field programming card is also very intuitive, making set-ups easy peasy, lemon squeasy.

        Jamming a gyro into your plane is quite simple. Maximising the benefits takes a bit more effort.
        Before final set-ups are performed, it's best to have your model mechanically trimmed and have the CG set where you ultimately want it to be. I prefer to do this with the Stick Control in manual mode, to prevent any unwanted surprises.

        I'm in the initial set-up process right now. Unfortunately, it's been rather windy lately, so final trims and CG dive tests will have to wait for a calmer day.
        I have noted that the stock 50% rate for the ailerons is too high for my plane, and aileron oscillation occurs at speeds over 60 - 70 knots. I'll back this down 10% before the next flights.

        So far so good!

          Here's a video of my Hawk. You can see the ailerons begin violent oscillation when I advance the throttle past 50%.



          I'll shoot another video after I have the plane and stabiliser dialed in and then one with the stick controls switched from manual to AVCS.

            I still don't have the stabiliser set-up in my Hawk. However, I've seen enough that I have great confidence in this product.

            ​I've just received another one that I will put in my Parkzone BF109 airframe.

              The software works fine on Windows 10. Just finished programming one in my FlightLineRc P-38

              The home hangar seems to breed!!

                On page 14 of the manual in the "Very Important" section it states:
                1/ The software only supports Win XP, Win 7 and Win 8.

                The software works fine with my Windows 10 PC, but the USB driver doesn't.
                When I plug in the Super II it initialises and then flashes the slow red LED "not connected"
                The status displayed in the App window shows Message: "Unconnected".
                In Windows file explorer no new device is listed when the Super II is connected to the USB port.

                So how did you get yours to connect?

                        I have a Win 10 x64 laptop that I use to program both the Super and Super II with no problems whatsoever. If you plug the adapter into your device, what comes up in device manager??
                        The home hangar seems to breed!!

                          I don't have this particular model of stabilizer but for future reference (if I get one), why is there is need for a PC? I thought the field programming card eliminates that.

                            I am using Windows 10 as HobbyEagle has confirmed it will work, you my need to Remove the program and redownload it as it may have not properly loaded. Let us know if you continue to have issues.
