    Mix and Match

    Hi folks Newbie Bob here.
i am back into the hobby after many years away. To say things have changed is a total understatement.
I currently have a mix of planes from beginners to a couple of edf jets I bought before they became unobtanium.
My beginners are the standard RTF Cessna and Cub style the others are for later in my progress.
I currently have Spektrum NX8tx and the appropriate rx in the planes.
Now my big question is if I continue with Spektrum tx do I need to also stay with Spektrum rx.
A proprietary sort of thing. Or can I mix and match other rx's. I am thinking from the rx back to servos etc things should be useable on any system, or again do I need to stay with all Spektrum?
Any guidance would be so helpful to me as I am also trying to have my 2 grandsons get involved too.
    Thank you
    Bob

If you are going to use the Spektrum TX, you need to stick with Spektrum "compatible" RXs. IE, things like Lemon, Admiral, Orange, etc. They must be DSM2/X/P protocol.
