  • Can a Gyro be mounted on top of a receiver?

The battery/wiring compartment on the FreeWing F-15 isn't exactly large and without resorting to exotic mounting (to the cockpit/lid or drilling and cutting a vertical section to mount receiver and then squeezing in the gyro AND battery in!) An input is welcome as gyro won't even be close to recommended CG anyway!
I was always warned about RFI from receivers, Servos and any power carrying circuit.

Gyros do not have to be on or even near the CG. That’s another old wive’s tale. Insofar as mounting a gyro on top of a RX, that’s not an issue either. I have a 3m sailplane that I have the RX and gyro (also a Return to Home) one on top of the other due to convenience of packaging. My sailplanes have been known to fly quite far away and very high (sometimes beyond site) and the RTH/gyro works without any problems. Of course, the mandatory range check should always be done.
