  • Spektrum receiver port re-mapping

Spektrum users should take a look at this post in RCG:

It enables you to re-map the receiver ports of the SMART receivers. Why would you want to do that.....?

    1. you can move the reverse thrust channel restriction of an AVIAN ESC away from a servo port, thus freeing up that port for something else.

    2. You can move the default left elevator port on a dual elevator/taileron setup away from port 9, so you can use an 8 port receiver like an AR8360T without a lot of fiddling around.

    3. Ditto for the default canard port on a canard delta with elevons.

    4. Any other situation where Spektrum's default port assignments are inconvenient.

Summarize the key points: This post discusses how to remap Spektrum SMART receiver ports, which helps free up ports and resolve default channel assignment limitations, particularly for setups involving reverse thrust, dual elevators, or canards.
Explain why it’s useful: If you're using an AVIAN ESC with reverse thrust, a dual-elevator setup, or a canard delta with elevons, this remapping allows better port management without extra workarounds.
Offer guidance: If you want to explore this, check out the linked RC Groups post for detailed instructions on how to adjust port assignments.

The description in the Spektrum Wiki gives several examples.
