Sounds like the fail safe is not set on the receiver. You might have to rebind it. I use the same receiver in my 1400 t 28 and have not had any problems. Look at the instructions for setting up a failsafe.

Usuall practice is to disconnect battery then turn off transmitter. Upon startup, turn on transmitter then connect battery.
