Since I first got the IX Transmitter, which I absolutely love, especially using the AR637T/8/10 Plus RX's with outstanding gyro/nose wheel setups and in flight battery pack voltage monitors, charging it has always been a bit sketchy. 🤔 Not only would it take extremely long hours to charge (even using a high output plug), but occasionally it would "say" it's charging, but after 9 hours no additional voltage increase. Sometimes I'd turn it on and it would show 3.87 volts and 99% (full charge on these Lithium Ion 3.7V 10500mah batteries is theoretically 4.2V), and other times it would show 3.89 volts and 68%. At first, it would charge (after all night) and stop at around 4.05 volts. Just a real pain in my donkey! 😁
So I finally got smart (for me that's always a challenge) and decided to charge the packs on my case charger with 2 iCharger 458 Duo's (without a doubt, my best investment since I use only 6S and 8S HiV packs). Took a bit of playing around with the charge parameters, but finally settled on charge max to 4.15 Volts (don't really need it to go to 4.2V) at .2 amps. These packs need to charge slowly to maintain and correctly accept the charge. Now I can monitor it's progress and stop it at any time. I usually only go to 4.1V. When plugging the pack back into the TX (with final resting charge of 4.1V), the TX still gives different voltage levels each time I turn it on, anywhere from 3.98V to 4.03V, even though I know for a fact it's at 4.1V. Also gives the charge % at 99 or 100. I'm no electronics genius, but this sure beats the hell out of charging the pack in the TX with a wall plug.
Anyone have any thoughts/advise or similar issues? 🧐
Thanks
