I am going to put my first Minwax acrylic on my plane. Will the Minwax be ok over the decals that are already on the plane? If I have decals to add, should I put the decals on before or after the Minwax?
Thanks
Yes, slap her on LOL!
Seriously, I did my Mustang a while ago, right over decals with no trouble. Recently did a little leading edge reenforcement on my Waco with some red duct tape and then coated it with Minwax and that worked great as well. Just beware that if you aren't doing a surface that has already been painted, you'll have to rub the Minwax into the surface. See the Minwax topic in the forum. I tried applying the first coat on my Waco much like I'd apply a coat of wax to a pair of shoes, rub it in and it removes any leftover mold lubricant (and there will be some!), let dry then coat again. Try it in a small area under the wing first.
Works Great!
Thanks.
Do you think a cleaning of the non painted areas with alcohol would remove
the mold lubricant, so the Minwax would not require a rub in first?

Thanks.
