  • Blenderm tape

Need some advice. Is there a trick or technic on installing the blenderm tape on the control surfaces? I tried to install the tape last night and had a bit of a tough time getting the tape into the gap of the control surface without it sticking to the wing before I could get it to the control surface.

3 or 4- 1" pieces is probably all you need. I would try bending the backside over a popsicle stick and push the tape down into the hinge first. Hope this works for you. Doc

Disconnect the control rod and bend the control surface to make the gap a flat surface, then put on the Blenderm. Another alternative is to install the tape on one side of the gap and use something like a ruler or flat screw driver to push the tape into the gap, then stick the other side of the gap. You don't have to lay the whole piece of tape across the gap before trying to stick it down.
