  • Looking For a Good Spackle For Foam

I dinged my F/A-18C Hornet yesterday when I was trying to unplug my battery...The connectors were super tight and when they finally pulled apart it tore into the edge of the fuse leaving a nice little pea-sized chunk out of it.

    Grrrrrrr....

So I am in the hunt for a really good spackle or something similar I can go grab at the hardware store. I have used spackle in the past but the consistency isn't a great match, especially when painting over it. Any suggestions? Help is greatly appreciated!

3M 1 step wall repair with fiber, works great for filling in lost foam also and it dries fast and sands smooth. (Lowes)

I swear by dap "fast and final" lightweight spackling. Comes in a 8oz size, sands and finishes perfect, home depot or lowes, cheap. Use the latex corlor matched samples and you will never see it.

Hi! I swear by Sig Micro-Balloons Filler Material. Mix it with a little Sig Bond or canopy glue and smear it on. Does a nice job.

I'm almost certain you can go to Wal-Mart and in the automotive section find a bondo spreader. I got one with a bondo kit I bought whilst patching yet another hole in my daughters beloved Ford Focus. ( you ever try to get into one of these with a leg that doesn't bend?? damn near impossible. Anyway, they are small and pliable, exactly RC size.
