  • Plastic Parts Repair Tip

On scale helicopters, particularly, antennas and wire cutters get broken frequently due to the awkward challenges of moving them around. Here’s a tip I use to repair broken plastic parts that adds considerable reinforcement to the fracture point beyond what glue alone can impart. I also use this method to join aluminum tubing pieces.

    1. Clean the fracture line mating edges with alcohol and tack together with CA. Let dry.

    2. Cut a strip of aluminum duct tape sufficient to wrap the fracture. Click image for larger version

        4. Wick CA around the tape edges. Be sparing but use enough to cover the edges. Click image for larger version

          5. Allow sufficient drying time and repaint. You’re done!
