    Avatars are now 125 x 125

We increased the avatar size to 125 pixels width by 125 pixels tall, so feel free to update your avatars accordingly! :)

Do we need to redo our old avatars to make them look right?

Unfortunately in many cases yes. If the original avatar was a very small image, it will stretch to fit the new size, and in some cases it won't look very good...Sorry for the hassle but this is one of the features we were trying to improve (the default avatar size was awfully tiny).

Now my avatar looks like me, sagging and spreading like butter!

Kinda looks like something from Planes cartoon. Mine looks that way too.

The 125x125 aspect ratio was the agreed upon middle ground. For images that are square, I tend to choose sections of an airplane up close which can help (see my avatar of the Corsair as example).

My avatar has become distorted and fuzzy! Did it really have to be changed? I'm from the old school... If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!! Doc

I'm with you Doc! I hate having to redo something that was ok to begin with.

Sorry fellas, I promise we won't be switching the avatar size any more. Most folks seem to prefer their avatars a bit larger than what we had as a default, hence the change.

I should have left my slightly elongated avatars alone. I tried to update it,now Lost the old avatar and can't seem to restore it. The update will not let me drag the corner of the picture that I've uploaded to center the photo!!!:@

I preferred the one we had before switching from the old system. Although the size now is nice, I prefer them longer than they are tall, like widescreen.

I prefer widescreen as well but for some reason the widescreen-shaped avatars did not work for the responsive aspect of the forum (viewable on all devices large and small) hence the square shape we have now.
