I have a retract mount/base, that has come loose on my EPO plane. What's best to use to glue this retract mount back in the wing? Some medium CA? Thanks.

Re: How should i glue back in place?
Greetings LL,
I have had very similar repair jobs and I have always had good luck with Medium CA and excellerator (if in the field). Be extra careful to avoid glueing moving parts of course.
Lately, I have found though that using the Medium CA or 15 minute epoxy and just letting it cure 24 hours works really well.
Good Luck

Re: How should i glue back in place?
CA, in general, has no flex value & dries brittle, and every shock it's subjected to thereafter is fracturing it slightly.
That said, there's a couple of new-ish CA products that do offer flexibility; from Bob Smith Industries but everybody has him re-brand to their logos so....depends on what you're used to seeing. It's the 'Insta-Flex' line, look for Aqua (Thin) & Pink (Gap Fill) bottle tops.
Now, THAT said....I wouldn't use it on landing gear mounts. Maybe the plys of a base plate or mounting the plate itself, eg, but not as the main anchoring element of the gear. I don't think it offers the kind of flexibility you'd want, there.
My first thought would be, good ol' plain ol' hot glue. Nothing much cheaper, easier to replace if needed.

Re: How should i glue back in place?
I discovered Liquid nails ''Home projects'' clear adhesive at wally world awhile back, and really like it.. It is acid free, low odor, cleans up ''uncured'' with water, stays semi flexible, and of course is safe for foam, and is pretty strong.. It is also an extreme temp. patented formula, and comes in a tube with a red cap, and the package is gold, blue and white.. The part no. is, LN-201, and costs under 5 bucks.... Ian

RE: How should i glue back in place?
I also accidentally discovered Liquid Nails home improvement glue. I used to use silicone caulk. Not any more. Liquid nails is much stronger and not quite as flexible. Unlike caulk, it cleans up nicely with a damp paper towel or cotton swab. If there is a drawback, it is that , like caulk, it takes a litte while to cure. The Doctor
