Not sure how any of you store or work on your planes but this is what I've done . The two stands work really well and different sizes to help with small and larger planes .

Grossman 56, My wife isn't that brave! I can hardly turn around in my shop, and it's 900 sq. ft. I have planes hanging from the ceiling by there props, planes propped up in corners, planes everywhere!!! I require people to pack a weeks worth of food and a GPS before they go in there. WPMAY I used 3/4 and didn't even glue them together. If I need I can break them down really easy that way . Plus it's light enough I can just spin them around or even lean or what ever I need .

Hey all Nice set up there Hippie, all protected and all. My wife would hit the ceiling if I stored my birds inside. As it is I have every square inch of the garage walls and rafters being used, in addition to storing the larger birds hanging from a carport. CTOriginally posted by Hippie 64Comment

Thanks CT , the stand with planes stacked up is in the basement. My computer room is off my den upstairs and there is where I do all my work and keep everything else. Was going to put it all downstairs but she said she would never see me !

Got to confess I found a picture and just built it . I was looking for ideas and Googled rc plane storage then just looked at the pics I found .
But the two racks I keep in my computer n RC area I just needed something so I came up with those . I really like them I just tilt or spin them around or what ever I need .But Crashing is LandingComment

Finally got the planes off the floor in the finished part of my basement, was super unpractical and took up nearly the whole room, not to mention with my two dogs it was only a matter of time until a disaster occurred. So went over and hung em from the ceiling in my work area of the basement, up out of the way and out of doggie-danger!
Part of me wants to see just how many planes I can fit in here and there's alot of room left...challenge accepted.Comment

The PVC ppe method works very well, I left the nose support pieces loose so that I could angle it for different airplanes. All the Mustangs and the Pandoras fit into it. I glued the rest together and ran a couple of bungee cords from front to back to give it some extra strength as well. Strapped it into the truck and voila! an airplane carrier.

Measured out (aka eyeballed) the distance that I would need to support the planes, used some self-tapping eye-bolts into the wood, from there just some regular clothes hangars with pipe insulating foam on them to spread out the weight a bit and reduce hangar rash. Took me all of 25 minutes to hang all 5! Super cheap and effective!Comment

I have hung some of my 40 planes on the wall. I hammer a large finishing nail into the wall and hang the planes by the tail wheel. The nail fits perfectly between the wheel and the wire. Can't get more simple than that, and the tail wheel supports the plane just fine. It also looks cool! DocComment
