Greetings Gang,
Just thought I'd jump on here and take a moment to share how proud I am of our little RC Club.
Yesterday, we - The Chisholm Trail RC Squadron - hosted the 3rd Annual National Model Aviation Day, Wounded Warrion Project fund raiser / fun fly!!
Well, it was the 3rd year that the event has been held, but it was our club's 1st time to participate.
We are a small club with approximately 30 "members", and like most clubs, of the 30 we have 8-10 regular pilots/flyers.
During yesterdays' event I am happy to say that we had over 25 participating RC pilots, including pilots from other area clubs, all contributing to the very worthy cause of expanding the general publics knowledge of model aviation and more importantly providing support for the Wounded Warrior Project.
We were extremely pleased that there were many first time RC Piloting lessons being provided. We had four RC training pilots and aircraft on hand specificfied for training opportunities and all received quite a workout. I know I ran at least 16 LiPo packs through my Flyzone Sensei FS!!!
All in all it was an absolutely fantastic day...... Lots of pilots, family, friends and budding pilots both young and old!!!
As President of our little club I want to re-iterate that I couldn't have been more proud of our members on hand and of everyone who gave of their time and efforts toward supporting our event!
At the end of the day we all gathered around as I signed a check made out to the Wounded Warrior Project for $1,165.00!!!!
Not bad for a little RC Club in just about no where, Oklahoma!!!
