Very nice! I just ordered one of the Sea Furies from HK during their Cyber Sale going on now. I was looking at them when they first came out, but at 90.00 total with free shipping, I couldn't wait any longer! Can't wait to see it, and hope my maiden flight goes as well as yours.

This is a great flying plane. I have had mine for 2-3 months now and ordered another during the sale. I really did some major modification to include a ZTW Gecko 85A ESC with 8A SBEC and a Great Planes Rimfire .55 motor. An Eagle Tree gyro was added as well. I fly with an Admiral 5-cell 4000 Ah 60C battery. I can go straight up if I wish. This is a great power plant. One-half throttle is all I need for most flying.
        [hr]
The P40N also is on sale. This is a gem to fly with a gyro and 4-cell battery.

I am very tempted by it as well. I am holding off to see what goodies my LHS has for sale tomorrow. They really hold a great Black Friday sale, and last year picked up a new FMS 1400mm P-51D Redtail for only 150.00! If I don't find anything tomorrow, I may well order that P40. Have you flown it without the gyro? I usually don't use one, unless it comes with it like on the Horizon planes with AS3X.

It flies just as well without the gyro. The gyro is better for take off and landings an doing some 3-D maneuvers.  It is a rocket with a 4-cell at full throttle but gentle with 3/4 throttle.  You cannot just gun it on take off.  Build up some speed and and she lifts off gently.  A very good flyer.

Sorry, that is my Local Hobby Shop.  I really try to support them throughout the year as they are invaluable in helping me with little things that I run into on some of these planes.

yes, it certainly did take a good bit of runway..which doing alot of practice takeoffs before 1st flight really helped in getting used to its ground handling on asphalt ,and also helped get an idea of its point of lift.

Nice flying! Unfortunately, the stock system has no power up here at 5000 ft. I upgraded mine with an FMS 550v motor and a 15" 5 blade varioprop. It now has unlimited vertical for big scale loops, and good speed.

I still have mine and occasionally get it out for flights. I really like this one! So much so that I grabbed a Riff Raff when it came out. Still have not built that one yet tho. I read about so many folks having problems with the retracts popping out when landing and mine have been good since day one, though I don't think I ever really subjected mine to a hard landing? But I live in fear when landing now! Haha

Great photos, Bajora, I love a good Sea Fury! My starboard retract failed in less than ten flights, and like many other pilots I've been grounded looking/waiting for parts. It's a great looking model though. Reading the long thread about modifying the motor seemed like such a project that I eventually lost interest and the bird is now a static display piece.

Yikes ... That stinks. For you and any others who cannot get parts. Not cool. Me thinks The King would benefit from imitating the SOP of another certain etailer that we all know and love? Given that Avios was a new brand that they recently started, it would have made sense to include making a complete selection of spare parts available for all models a part of the mission statement?! I did break a blade and was down for a month but was finally able to grab a couple sets of spares when they showed up in inventory.

Those blades were like unicorn teeth, so difficult to find in the initial months after the Fury's release. I watched one of HK's videos where they basically acknowledge that the parts availability was a real challenge. I don't judge because I know just how difficult and frustrating it can be to orchestrate, and I can empathize with both the manufacturer's side, and the pilot's side.

Awesome, enjoy flying it! I would love to see a few comparison pictures of the Avios and the flightlineRC versions to see the differences. Also, do you know if the Flightline Struts would fit on the Avios? Would be nice if we could fit bigger wheels than fit on the stock struts..

Thanks! It definitely needs the power up here. On stock power, its max speed was maybe 5-10mph above stall speed, not fun to fly at all. Now it can pull almost unlimited verticals.

Here are a few pictures from this morning's flights. Flies smooth as glass! Modded the gear with forward bent lower strut and parkzone corsair wheels, and my nose over problem is gone.
