I was told this is normal from FMS people that the motor mount is supposed to be crooked or it’s fine like that

Hi Rcnewby , it is normal for a single motor propeller driven airplane to have what is called "down thrust". Imagine yourself seated in the cockpit of the airplane. If the motor shaft is angled slightly downward and slightly to the right, that it typical of most planes from most foam electric manufacturers like FMS, Freewing, FlightLine, Eflite, Dynam, etc. In fact, most manufacturers mold the angle into their motor mount bulkheads, shown in your picture.

The FMS 800mm series of micro warbirds has been around for several years so I wouldn't doubt how they're molded. If it was unflyable out of the box, the RC Community would have known about it by now.

..and not just for model airplanes. Full size airplanes can also have at least a few degrees of down thrust as well as a couple degrees of right thrust.
Here's a couple examples for full size aircraft:

A full scale Cessna Caravan also has a very noticable amount of right thrust built in. Not as commonly seen as down thrust in full scale.
