Maiden of my 30cc Skyraider from 2014. The flight went good. The landing not so much. Tore the retracts off, but it was quickly repaired and the Century jet retracts proved they were tough as nails. I got two more flights out of that plane, then at our Fall Fly-in it died. In another post I said how you should never imo use one battery for ignition and receiver/controls. Well I am convinced that was the culprit that killed this plane. The destruction was massive, so I have no actual proof if the receiver (Spektrum 8) was indicating brown out/loss of signal because the battery was separated from it. At first I thought it was a high speed stall. It just lost all control and tipped over. It was rather windy that day, but that plane weighed right at 20 lbs. I think the ignition caused interference and when the receiver went, the fail safe pulled the engine back and in that wind it just pushed it over, nose straight no recovery death spiral. I did have pictures of the "death roll" as she was spiraling to her death. Unfortunately I cant find them. They might be at home on another drive.

Todd
No, there was no recovery. It actually killed the engine and broke the prop, although you cant tell that the prop is broke in the pic. But, the prop and the bombs and gear coming out was the only real damage. I soldered the wiring back on the gear. Repaired the bombs with epoxy and put a new prop on it and it was good to go. It was just a dumb mistake. Nervous, wind started blowing. All I could think was got to land this plane got to land this plane. I "forced" it down. Lesson learned.

Nope, I think it will be there until the tree grows around it. The wind last night moved it. I can't find one wing and now it is pitched nose down. I think the gear is stuck where ta branch splits.Originally posted by Dewey H Lee View PostIt ain't flying but it's in the air😒. I'd say yes. Hope you got it down okay.😃

You just have to see this! A B29 X-1 combo, but just watch this guy fly the B 29, remember its a twenty foot wingspan.
BTW, love the announcer. One of the few videos that gave me a fright!

There are some really nice in-flight shots in here! Well done!
I used to fly with a buddy who was a pro photographer so I always was so happy when he would take some in-flight shots of my birds. I haven't had many shots taken in recent years...These are about five years old or so...
