The Typhoon would be amazing, but i am so jacked now that if they offered a turd with a 90mm edf bolted to it i would "add to cart"....

90mm Typhoon then? Cool. A Maelstorm that flies similar but different to the L39. :]

Hahaha me too..I got several in my clubs into edf jets..one of my mates has preordered the L39 and now everyone is waiting for Foil. I am the FW Ambassador at my Club.
Actually a word in the poem had a nordic touch to it. I would bet it is a Draaken 90mm! Great!

I was thinking that too, and of course another line in the poem made reference to a landing in a field, so maybe F-106 too?
A 90mm U-2 would be sweet though, imagine flying one FPV

I have been talking so much about "Project Foil" that even friends and family that have no interest in the hobby are texting me wondering what project foil is....LOL

The poem does imply a female dragon on the hunt. There was a varient of the U-2 known as "The Dragon Lady". Also, it could be the Chinese J-20 Mighty Dragon. Or maybe the Swedish Draken fighter. All would be pretty cool subjects.

This has been a fun day so far guys. I have been itching to try the new YouTube Premier feature and Project FOIL just made the most sense with all the hype around it. I will be excited to chat with you all live while we watch the unveiling together. And just to add a little info for our HobbySquawk friends. Pre-Order for this aircraft will start tomorrow morning with the email. 12 hours after the video airs / 24 hours after the tease started. Just like all our other Project debuts the past year, just in a different wrapping with this new YouTube feature.

I can't wait! I know most likely I'm pretty far off guessing from what it was, but I don't care since it'll be awesome to see what it is. And it was a fun guessing game, so to see how close I was will be amusing. I hope alpha keeps up these guessing games in the future :)

So it is indeed a 90mm!!! :Drooling:

Builds like the L-39? Yes, it does. Flies like the L-39? Yes, in certain respects. I'm glad you like your Alabtros, by the way!

As this thread comes to a close and another inevitably begins, I hope we'll all look back one day and appreciate that we here at Motion RC weren't defined by any one plane, or that we were feverishly [foolishly] trying to create the Definitive-Plane-To-End-All-Planes that would render all other future projects meaningless. Rather, over these years and continuing forward we're laying out a thesis, a menu, with different flavors but common themes. Each project has something Primary to offer someone. Is that someone you this time around? Maybe so, maybe not, maybe next time. There's always Five Eyes.

If Foil or any of the other upcoming projects flew exactly the same as Hoot or any of our other past projects, there wouldn't be much fun in trying the new stuff. In the same way that we've released big twins, super scale slowpokes, slippery speed demons, scary-yet-gentle deltas, TVs, sport flyers, lightweight wallet-friendlies and in every primary color and camo, Foil will continue our thesis --that it, as with any model, has its rightful place among our pantheon of products when done right. Big, small, fast, slow, EDF, prop, simple, complex, inexpensive, or not, and most anything in between. I have no doubt that Foil will serve its intended audience very well, without, importantly, directly competing with its other 90mm brethren. In this way, it makes sense to "try 'em all", since they each offer a different experience and potentially teach a new subset of skills, which I hope helps us all improve as pilots and keeps us engaged in learning new things. Taking a step back, I'd say there's a nice harmony in the lineup we've been building over the past few years. I'm not just going to repaint something and change the shape a little and call it the silver bullet. We all know our tastes are far too varied to be universally pleased by any single model airplane. But for someone looking to do what Foil can do... buckle up, because it's time to hide another box from the wife.
    ;)
