    hi
here are some pics of my m2000. it's now ready to fly.
i put landing lights, nav lights, afterburner, 3d cockpit and nozzle, upgraded the pilot witch i found horrible, a vent on top. gyro is on.
it is "only" 2.3 kgs, not too bad i think.
i got a small vid, but don't know how to upload it.

Nice cockpit. Did you do the nozzle too?

If you check my blog on rcgroups there are detailed instructions on how to make your own afterburner for a fraction of the cost of the commercial ones. Also a landing light controller.

Look at the back of the motor. If it's flat you have the HP inrunner. If there is a cone around the back a lower performance out runner, sounds like this is what you have. If you have it out of the plane you can rotate the fan to see the kV between the slots. If you have the 1850 out runner it's a good set up, very close to the inrunner in performance. The 1850 was considered, and marked as the HP before they came out with the inrunner.

Confused about my Mirage tiger meet PNP version

Hello, I'm confused about what power system version I have in my plane, after unsuccesfull try to takeof from grass (I could take of my FW Jak 130 70mm) I put attention of my power system.
the manual had a detached foil saying that I had 80mm 9blade edf with 3658-1920KV motor, I have verified that the ESC is a 100 Amp ESC, but the EDF has 12 blades.
I could not check the motor KVs as it is covered by the edf housing, it is inrunner.

Its suposed to be the "High performance" version as I ordered it and as the detached page from the manual says.

Also I have tested to put the plane vertical and apply full throttle with a fully charged battery and leave it for a short time (half a second and with my hands realy close but not touching it) and it goes down slowly.

The description page says " The 9-blade power system provides enough static thrust to maintain a hover"

Having a 12 blade EDF and the inability to mantain a hover makes me think that I have received a non High performance version.

I would like your thoughts about it, and if it is not the high performance version what should I do, contact the seller or contact freewing

    thanks in advance.

Well, the MRC web site states that the stl files are available, but in fact they are not and the links on the site just take you in a circle.

For copyright reasons I will not post the files here.

However, a Google search will find copies of the cockpit and nozzle that you can download.

rc Ari, very nice job. Illuminated screen is amazing.how did you manage to get the files? They are not any more on rcmotion.

Maidened the mirage today, first flight went ok except the landing was a bit too hot on a not so smooth grassy field. lost 2 wheels. Took some tape and taped the front and right wheel well, moved battery back 1 cm, trimmed up a little bit as it was nose heavy on the first flight, second and 3rd flight were done with a handlaunch that was super easy compared to handlaunch stuff like a funracer. Landings went smooth gliding over the grass. I now need to put protection on the servos. Will repair the wheels easily enough but wont use them on this grass soon.

Much fun was had in the air, plane turns well and solid, rolls are fast and look scale, the climb into hover is something a real M2000 probably cant do but was cool enough to do.

I'm in no way contradicting what you say, RCGeek knows his stuff. For me I have found that my flying style differs a lot from his (I crash a lot more...) and I like my slow flight high alpha stuff more than most and a 6000mah pack would not work with that kind of flying, but for high speed zooming around, you could probably shoehorn one in, following the instructions.

Not my kind of flying, but in this hobby we do what we want, there is no right or wrong with your own airplane

He also explained his throws of 5/8” elevator travel and 1/4” for aileron travel. If you set up aileron at the rates in the book, it’ll roll like a bullet.

I did some flights during the weekend in Germany together with friends, here's a vid of pilot Robert flying some high alpha on his Freewing Mirage with a nice centerburner!

    Enjoy the vid!

I've tried using 3300's because I have a number of them for 60" 3D planes I can cross utilize.

My 3300's are ~480 grams and while it's no slouch with ~600 gram 4000's it's better with 3300's in most cases, provided you're not in 80%+ throttle the majority of the flight and if you don't mind the reduction in flight time of about 30 - 45 seconds.

4000 pro but why buy admirals? You can get a 5000 in of another brand that’s lighter than the 4k.

While you could get a 6000 in with some effort, it would give a very forward CG and destroy the charm of having the best T/W ratio of any FW jet.

I use a 4000, which balances just about right and makes the model very lively, especially if you put a FMS PRO edf unit in it.
