Back on Page 1, many moons ago Spitfire4life mentioned some 3d files to upgrade the plane and can’t seem to find them or any new ones done since - note just joined and planning to purchase the L-39 so I’m the ultimate newbie…. Any help is appreciated!!!

The single wire is the reverse lead. Plug it in an open channel on your receiver and have a switch work that channel -100/+100. You should have gotten a paper instruction sheet with the plane. If not it's available on Motions site. Default timing works great.
None of the "blue boxes" have issues. Have a couple people had problems? Sure but no more than any other electronic item.

I received my camo 80mm L-39 today and I've got some questions:- I have 2 throttle leads; 1 is a regular 3 wire and the other has only 1 signal wire where are they plugged in?
- it has the newer in-runner: 3658-2150kv and a 100A ESC...does anyone know who makes it? and what's the easiest way to program it?
- is anyone using the reversible braking and how do you set it up?
- what timing selection is best for the 2150kv motor?
- The blue box is the E1712... is this the one with the issues?

I’m glad you like the L-39, I have numerous flights on this airframe, two years old, and it never fails. Relatively fast yet slow, performs beautiful aerobatics, and is very predictable. I have a GPS in it and it clocks in on the fast side around 95+mph. If I want a fast mover I fly my F-4.

Ok Ute gifted me this L39 I'm getting to like it! only question is up until yesterday the forward white landing lights were on all the time gear up gear down, now they are on only with gear down- is there a setting for this? I like em on full time!! a few flights last week

Hi,
After the experience of loading the model before Maiden flight, I decided to make a simple transport platform.....
the main reason was that there was no way I could properly store the wheelchair so that there was no danger of damaging the model....and this is how it was solved.

I am astonished how well this jet flies, thank you for your tips. I noticed it likes to climb when i give it gas. I have to see how it behaves without all the ordinance loaded. I been eyeing the 90 mils, I have a spare high performance engine, ohh decisions decisions.

Usually climbing as speed increases (not just hitting the throttle quickly) is that you are nose heavy and carrying a lot of up trim. Thrust line issues are rare and I don't think anyone has said that their L-39 has a thrust line issue.
Yes, this is one awesome plane, mine even with the old outrunner is a stunner.

So I took a look at my CG mark this morning and they are only 8mm aft what the book advertises. So I do my CG check on this plane gear up and the plane flipped upside down hold the plane with my index fingers on the CG marks on the tops of the wing. That’s how I do it with this plane other planes are different and everybody has their way of doing it. She flies great for me where I have the marks and the way I check it.

Yup, foud that out today. My esc wasn't calibrated on the Maiden. Totally different Bird and flies great.

Unless you want to go 8S the 2150 FreeWing EDF is as good as you can do.

Can anyone suggest an upgrade fan and motor. I have an extra 130amp avian. A direct drop in would be great if it exists

The 2150 has been a good upgrade to some of my planes and disappointing in others. Great in my Gripens and Avanti. So-so in my L-39 and my Mirage was slower with the 2150 than the 1950 outrunner from an A-4 that I had been running and put back in.

Maiden the new 12 blade version yesterday and was very rock solid. I was a little disappointed on the speed. I really was expecting a little faster. My avanti s is way faster . Maybe I'll have to go back and recalibrate esc ... strange

Yes and no. The Avian works in the Spektrum eco system and programs different. The FreeWing is a HobbyWing and you plug the yellow into a spare receiver channel and assign a switch with -100/+100 travel to that channel. It should come with reverse enabled out of the box. If not it’s fairly easy to enable through the programming using your throttle stick.

Ok. I'll go back through it. Thanks.. I also just noticed that the new freewing 100 amp esc has a lead that says reverse brake ? Is this there new reverse thrust like the avian esc has ?
