Steve, that hinging method looks really good, solving the problem of how to get the canopy up and away from the fuse while keeping the hinging strong. When you so kindly offered to make me a frame I didn't realize it would come with engineering solutions too!

No. Transfer the one that comes on the plane to the 3D printed coming.

So I've just, belatedly, realized I can just buy the cockpit parts from Motion when they become available. all I really need is the canopy frame, which they're not offering. As I plan to do an opening canopy, can anyone help?

I airbrushed the interior of the stock canopy with a light coat of Tamiya Clear Gold and Clear Base ( 15% to 85% ). The effect is alright. In all of these pictures, it's the same canopy. It appears coffee colored or golden depending on the viewing angle and sunlight. In the air it's not noticeable. I only dusted the interior lightly since I still want to be able to see the cockpit details.

In the completely opposite direction, perhaps we could stock clear canopies for people who want to see all the cockpit detail perfectly clearly without any degree of tint. If there's enough interest.

But it looks like some announced parts are missing in the published files:

    a) Refering to #2, Tutorial 1, Cockpit Set: 3 parts that go aft of the rear section of the seat plus the part shown below the seat's front section
    b) Intake Cover Set
    c) Pitot and Generator Set

Will those parts be made available as well?
