Internal resistance in the battery could be the problem. High IR will cause power loss,.even if the battery has a full chargeOriginally posted by flyinhigh042 View PostAfter approx 75 flights, I experienced the first ever “glitch” with my trusty F-15. Shortly after turning base leg to land, the F-15 began sinking at an uncontrollable rate. I continued the turn to final, so still under control but it seemed to have lost some if not all power. The jet landed well short of the runway on rough terrain tearing away the right main landing gear and doing substantial damage to the bottom of the jet. Once at the crash sight I found the EDF would power up with no issues. The lipo was then tested, no issues noted and 30% left in the pack.
I plan on rebuilding the F-15, it’s been too much fun to be without. But with the unknown gremlin still lurking that caused the power down, I’m hesitant to move forward with the repairs. I don’t understand why It would lose power while in a phase of flight where the power is being reduced, with plenty of juice left in the pack. I’m thinking the ESC/BEC are suspect. Other than that, I’m not sure where else to look. Any ideas?
Thanks.

If you still have the mold for the canopy would you consider making/selling one or two? I'm really digging on the new F-15EX and would love to do a conversion...Originally posted by Jets and Wings View Post
Some pics I made during the build of the F-15E.
For all of you Eagle drivers, thinking to build a Strike Eagle also. The CFT's, I made out of roofmate, very light and you can sand them very well. Using filler and lots of sanding and you got them ready. I used a Revell 1/48 model kit to measure. The additional weapon stations are also made out of roofmate with a thin layer of fiberglas. For attachment I used the male and female spare parts from MotionRC's F16 and also 3D printed ones. For the cockpit, I put some fiberglas on the downside, so I was able to remove the foam behind the first cockpit. I used 3D parts( pilots, cockpit parts, weapons etc.) offered on Thingiverse from some great guys out of this forum. Thanks for sharing!!! For the canopy, I used the old one to build a mold and added the extra space using filler and after hours of sanding and measuring I am very happy with the result. I used 0,8mm vivak petg clear plastic plates, put them on a frame and to put it into a 150 degree C hot oven for 3min and put it quickly over the mold.
Color is gunship grey, decals are from Callie Graphics.

Nice. Yeah that new FMS 8S 90mm inrunner fan looks legit. Have an Avios Mig 17 coming that I'll fly with the stock outrunner for a bit and then likely swap up to that setup. When the ARF+ of this jet comes back in stock I'll grab it. Really digging that F15E Strike eagle conversion tho... I wonder if he'd make and sell canopies from the mold he has... the conformal tanks I'm confident I could do myself. Make it into a F-15EX... new EX is crazy, like 12 missiles hanging off the wings, F35 or F22 way out in front engaging and feeding back info via a datalink and the EX crew just sits there blowing stuff out of the sky.

I just swapped in that FMS powerplant on the high performance 6S version. It's an awesome setup in this jet, flight times now on par with all my other EDFs.

Edit: read the last few pages... so this is still in production good. RC Castle has the ARF+ but shipping is kinda nuts. I could get the shipping down to $50 or so using ground shipping but... that's 45-60 days China to Spain... yeah... I'll wait for the ARF+ to come back in stock on Motion and throw the new FMS 90mm inrunner into it. I know Gooniac put one in his FW 90mm F16 and from his description and a video he posted the thing MOVES.

So after a hard landing i noticed the plastic retract housings were cracked. Luckily had one Type-A retract in the spares box but parts availability is effectively zero at the moment due to a lack of freight capacity into Australia. So, designed a little plate to support the retract housing that also acts as a brace to the main gear strut.
Hopefully it holds up until shipping starts again from HK :(
(Yes i know i shouldnt be busting up retracts with hard landings lol, but hey, it happens)
STL available here:
This fits over the retract in the main gear well. Provides support for the plastic retract housing as well as the main gear strut.Right side STL is included, mirror in your slicer to create the corresponding left brace (the brace is not symmetrical).Use original screws.

Hello EAMRC and welcome to HobbySquawk. I only have a mold for the larger canopy. I have to think about making a mold for the tanks! For the cockpit you must use your old one and add some 3D parts, also for ordinance. You will find them on Thingiverse, a lot of great guys upload their designs for free. Then you must scale them down to fit the scale for the F-15.Originally posted by EAMRC View PostF15E, just bought a scratch and dent kit to specifically bash it to an Israeli F-15 E, looking for any conversion parts to purchase. Any help out there is appreciated for twin canopy, tanks, ordinance etc. Thanks Guys 🙏

I've wanted a strike eagle for a while. I keep looking at the Freewing plane, but kept getting hung up on the canopy. It looked to be beyond my skills. Seeing this conversion is inspiration.Originally posted by DCORSAIR View Post
Oh wow, that looks awesome, exactly what it should be, I just don't care for the stock color at all, send those pics to MRC and just maybe the F-15 will get a make over paint job and some choices on livery decals, I would buy another one,
At the very least it would be awesome if motion produced a mod kit oftof replacement parts would simplify the conversion.

Can anybody tell me why my F-15's wings goes up and down most of the flight unless 100% throttle?
Also, the front wheel has problems to close or open unless I disconnect the little rectangle cover hooked to it with a spring.....
Appreciate your help ...

I understand it's driven by a servoless retract - it's either up or its down.Originally posted by Paul Blais View PostI just finished my eagle. My concern is with the airbrake. It's set up on my B 3 position switch. I can't get it to extend 1/2 deflection. It will only deflect a full 100% on the settings page. I'm using a Spectrum DX8 radio. Please help.
