  • A-10, A-10, A-10, A-10...

Now that you've got the Tomcat out of your system, we'll be waiting impatiently for the twin 80mm (or 90mm maybe?) A-10. Just think of all the cheese you'll make on the endless ordinance packages!

I'd like to see it follow the design philosophy of the Carbon Z T-28 - lightweight with a big ol' fat airfoil so it can fly like a real Warthog (sloooow). That way we can chug around at under half throttle and extend our flight times. I suppose the scale features that you and Freewing include (plus all those Mavericks and CBU-87s hanging off it) would make weight a challenge. What would be other design challenges for a slow flying EDF? As I understand it, EDFs are typically more efficient at higher speeds.

Awesome job on the F-14! I know I'm doomed to find it on my front doorstep soon.

                RE: A-10, A-10, A-10, A-10...

I recently preordered the F14 Tomcat PNP. I own an LX A-10 Warthog, but I know if Freewing made an 80mm or 90mm Hawg, I would purchase it in a HOT minute! Unitl the present time, No one built a nice flying, foam, scale model F-14 Tomcat. A large scale A-10 is a MUST have for this EDF jet enthusiast. I think must pilots here would agree with me. Motion RC is my number ONE place to purchase my aircraft models. I sincerely hope you guys continue to keep up the FANTASTIC job you are doing, and seriously, seriously, seriously consider the demand for a 80-90 mm A-10. Thanks.

A little late to the party, but I'll also put up my hand for a twin 80mm A-10. I think 80mm would be the better choice, and you could even do 6b instead of 12b since the big ol' turbofans on the full scale have that "whine" to them.

Back in 89-90 I was stationed at Davis-Monthan in Tucson and the A-10s would do their "attack" routine over the runway once in a while. What an awesome sight that was!

And then of course, we'd need to get MrRCSound to do a nose cannon sound effect, with flashing LEDs in the nose! :D

They would have to couple the gun firing to a throttle cut, for realism! At EAFB, I watched a Warthog 'attack' some armored vehicles on the ground with its cannon; it looked like someone jammed the brakes on, then I heard why. Impressive, to say the least, as a black spot appeared on the side of the armor.

definitely would go for an A-10.I live near the old Myrtle Beach AFB which had A-10's. I was not a fan until I would be driving out in the country ( in a MOA area) and suddenly have a pair of Warthogs flash overhead, just above treetop level. Those guys know how to get down in the dirt for sure. I would LOVE to have a twin 90mm A-10. no brainer. Please do it in Myrtle Beach AFB colors. Please!!!

I've been waiting for a large, scale A-10 to come out from a quality manufacturer like Freewing for a long time. Love the LX one as far as looks, but the components and gear are junk.

Yeah, LX really seemed to understand that the market wanted larger EDFs (90mm and higher), but unfortunately their choice of electronics at the time more than likely held back a lot of sales.

If it had been Freewing putting these out 5 years ago with the level of quality electronics they are using today, they would have sold like crazy.

I've owned and flown some of the smaller ones but find myself still wanting. I too would LOVE a larger twin 80mm/90mm A10 with the Freewing touch!!

I got to watch a bunch of em do that years ago ..it was amazing how loud the gun is ..basically like standing right next to a gatling gun while it fires...without ear plugs lol. the old M113s they used looked like swiss cheese.

Ive considering buying a current offering of the A10, but none of them look good..or sound good either. so Ive been holding off till someone makes one that actually looks like a scale A10 (gear included)

Agree on that. I've got an old GuanLi 55mm that I resurrected with a couple of fans I found here; the old ones got unbalanced and burned off the blades. But a bigger one would be welcome; I can barely fit the batteries and ESCs in this one.
