Sorry to hear that it went down. If you do in vest is the freewing fans, I would love to see it though. Should have more than adequate power. Are you considering electric retracts in the next one or planning on continuing to hand launch? If you decide to get another that is..

Good question...If I am to get a new airframe I may toy with the idea of installing superior retracts in her but the most likely scenario is to keep her a hand tosser.

Are they a reputable firm? I hate it when the site says one day sale, on everything you click on! This kind of marketing just turns me off. I don't like firms that try to rush one into making a purchase.

They are pretty descent. I have ordered from them several times with no problem. There are a few people over on rcgroups that have had issues with them though. The one-day sale thing is basically a joke. They just reset the timer every day, prices are pretty constant. If it does go back up, I guarantee that within a week it will be on sale again.

As an engineer I have no understanding of marketing and the games we are to play. Does that tactic actually work? In my case this and the Hobby King 60second one time offers drive me away from their sites.

Beats me. It is a strange tactic for sure. I just ignore it. Same with the Hobbyking pop-ups. Now back to the topic at hand. I know some guys have used a gyro on the drag rudders, are you using any electronics to help the yaw stability? Has it been an issue when flying?

My experience with flying wings is that as the speed increases one needs to add forward stick (down elevator). This is inherent in reflexed airfoil. If looking to onboard electronic stabilizing, I wonder it using a speed sensor, form say a telemetry system, could be used to trim this out automatically as the speed changes.

Hi Don, nice to seeya here....Heck we missing the Balanced EDF units, i personally have 5 units installed in 2 Stingers a A10 and a HK t45. they are the best.

I ordered those 64mm 12 blade units and two ZTW 45A ESCs...Should get them sometime this next week. Looking forward to rebuilding her and seeing if she excels with the new power system or if a new airframe is necessary. I will keep you posted.

What about taking off with gear down and then belly landing? I do that with a couple of planes where the landings are rough and not very pretty looking. Belly landing makes it so much easier and saves the gear.
I have the LX A-10. First landing and all retracts broke. They've replaced by retracts from a Freewing SU-35 and have been working perfectly. I've also replaced the fans/motor/ESCs with high thrust units. The foam is very soft and porous but at least the thing flies.
I've always wanted the B-2 but with my experience with the A-10 and everything I've read, I've resisted. If it were cheap enough, I'd get one and immediately replace retracts and power plants.
PS, what do those things on the wing tips do? I'm talking about those split control surfaces. Yaw control?

I actually removed the gear already but I can see your point there. I decided to discard the added weight and removed them however. My power system arrived so I am looking forward to getting it all hooked up this weekend. Hopefully I can shoot for another hand toss attempt if weather permits.

As for the wing tips, those are called "drag rudders" (aka "clamshell rudders") and they allow drag to one side of the B-2 or the other for yaw authority. However, for the LX B-2, it flies the most stable with the drag rudders both open equally.

Even comes with the retracts (although the nose retract is worthless and will need to be replaced...I would actually replace the entire gear/retract set myself).

Just don't buy the last one as I am going to want to get one myself! LOL

I'm not sure I will buy one now. I still don't know where I'm going to store the P-38 when it gets here. I hope to sell a couple of planes soon.
That's a pretty price but I'll still need to add in all the bits and pieces to make it fly. I need a high power system for grass. I've got retracts that will work and I can "bomb proof" the mounts for them.

My buddy helped me insert the new power plant in her...Sounds and feels like a huge upgrade over the stock setup. Can't wait to find a dry day to re-maiden!

For sure on the vid and your impressions of the new power plants. This plane is not high on my list but it is still of interest to me. (I'm a bit leery of LX products.) If you shout out its praises, it could move up the list very quickly.
