I have three. First one I modified for separate wing and stab servos and put a 6S fan in it. Second one I left stock with the original linked ailerons and stabs and have a 3rd NIB in case.

Great little edf for a normal field. I already sold it but I'm thinking of buying it again. High alpha is great even without a gyro :-D https://youtu.be/JLw4FzmiXHw?feature=shared

Never mind, I figured out that I was mixing thrust into my switch instead of just letting the reverse thrust channel only operate off of my SE switch. I also calibrated the throttle range for the esc before hand, but I doubt that had anything to do with it but good to know because I wasn't able to find anything in the manual about calibrating it. It seems like it wasn't necessary to do but it definitely helped my throttle response (before doing it the motor would start spooling around 15-20% throttle, after calibration it spools at around 5% throttle). Not saying that I know what this implies or anything like that, just reporting what I observed and that I think it might be worth a mention.Originally posted by hockeyspirit View PostI was finishing setting up my f-16 and I kept running into issues trying to get the reverse thrust to work properly (using TX16S transmitter and Radiomaster ER8 receiver). I am still fairly new to rc plane world, but I do have some experience. I changed my SE 3 pos switch to a 2 pos in the transmitter settings, and was able to get reverse thrust set up on my SE Down switch afterwards. The issue is I've only been able to get it to spool up to about half reverse thrust and as soon as the values changes signs (i tried it going both ways), the motor stops and starts producing normal thrust. I can try to provide more details but any help is appreciated!

No, 2-4S. I put a ZTW Beatles ESC. It was the smaller G1 version, not sure if the G2 they make fits.

I was thinking about getting an upgrade from a 4s 64 fan to a 6s and was wondering if the stock esc can run 6s?

Hi I bought the 64mm F-16 and was wondering where I should put the CG. For my maiden I had my CG a little more forward then what was recommended and I had a few problems with wing rocking while in high alpha. Any insight helps.😁

Going to attempt going to a 70mm EDF on the old airframe first to see what it will take big will be throwing the new FMS V2 3150 with a 69amp ESC. Wanted a different paint scheme so here she is ready for a maiden flight ✈️ tomorrow

I know you guys don't really care, but that setup on the previous page, literally doesn't work now.
I have no Idea. set up like a delta wing it works but can't get the reverse function to work.
giving up on the V1 setup for now with this old Futaba. it's too outdated maybe.
the V2 version all works perfectly.

Does anyone know of someone who can make a 2 seater cockpit for this aircraft?

Only speaking about V1, above picture is the wing choices in my radio under delta wing. You have to chose one. Which one should I choose?Originally posted by SanExup View Post64mm F16 V1 without modification is a delta wing type. V2 is more of a regular wing type setup, and the same as a V1 mod, 1 aileron 1 elevator if they are "Y'd" together. Or you can separate out the control surfaces. 2 channels for aileron, 2 for elevator. Or one for elevator if that is Y cabled together
ok now with some help from the guys at the field we tried it set up with delta wing. 2 ailerons. rudder normal.
seems to work. under the servo monitor it has channel 1 as rudder. channel 2 as AUX2. channel 3 throttle. channel 4 aileron one. channel 5 aileron two. reverse all servos. the only thing that we can't get to work is throttle reverse with this setup.
none of it makes sense. especially not using channel 2. but whatever.
glad V2 went with a easier setup

it's a 12FG using the TM-14 2.4ghz module. yes it does delta wing type. but I wasn't using it that way because I didn't know it would work and I wasn't sure which wing type selection is correct. see the attached picture for the menu in the flying wing selection. which one of those would you choose for the V1 F/16? just in case you didn't know the new f/16 64mm is now set up with 4 wing servos. and why I was able to make my new plane work without a hiccup.Originally posted by Evan D View PostNo wing type delta or elevon? What model futaba?
and I'm being told this radio is a PPM system. when hooking up one of the hobby eagle A3 super 4 gyros it said you need to wire it up exactly like they show. It worked for me on the PWM setup because I thought thats what I have. but they have pwm and ppm receivers that work with this radio. the receiver I'm using is a r617fs. Im going to buy a R7006SB which has Sbus to try. way less wires to tuck in this little plane. but part of me thinks I should just give up on this radio due to its age and buy something modern.
for a radio that was close to $900 new the manual for it is garbage. even a reviewer pointed out how bad it is and there's features in the radio that don't seem to actually work. https://rc-soar.com/futaba12fg/index.htm

Someone told me i should have set this model up as a delta wing. Son of a b.....

I was trying everything this crazy radio has for tail and aileron options.
this time i had set the plane up with 2 ailerons. this turned out to be another mistake because I couldn't get the throttle reverse feature to work. but all the control surfaces worked. so I saved that experiment and started over with a fresh plane this is an interesting setup, that to me, doesn't make sense, but it works.
Receiver,
ch 1 aileron
ch 2 aileron
ch 3 throttle
ch 4 rudder
ch 5 reverse
Radio settings. (here's where it gets weird)
Wing= 1 aileron
Tail= Ailevator
Linkage,
ch 1 elevator= stick J2
ch 2 elevator 2 = -- (no stick assignment)
ch 3 throttle = stick J3
ch 4 Rudder = stick J4
ch 5 Aileron = J1 (without this assigned to a channel I got no aileron movement)
ch 6 Gear = to a switch. (this is actually unused in the receiver but assigned to a switch to work the reverse function, and it works, but I don't know how)
ch7 Air brake= (no assignment) but seemed like it was needed to make the controls work. futaba actually says assign the channels something anyway even with a gyro.
model menu,
Ailevator,
ELE +100% up +100% down
ELE 2 +100% up +100% down
aileron
Left ELE= +100%
Left ELE2= +100%
Right ELE +100%
Right ELE2= +100%
isn't that the worst thing you've ever seen?🤨
hey futaba, try harder at making a more simple setup jeez.
I wanted to post this for anyone else with a over complicated radio. or am I just really dumb?🤣 probably just dumb...

Hey motion RC, i have found a few flaws in V2.
Having issues with servos not throwing the same amount. Rudder will throw 28 mm to the right per the manual but only throw 20mm to the left. I tried to adjust the endpoints and it doesnt help. I think they didnt center the servo horn. The servos are of course glued in. Now either I adjust the radio and fly with 60% max rudder travel to the left or destroy the vertical stabilizer to replace the cheap servo.
while in dual rates throws are the same way.
ALso front wheel gear is not centered with servo. It points to the left. Roll it on the ground and it steers so fast it tips over. Seems like the flat ground on the rod isnt centered. Servo arm is. Wheel is not.
Ailerons are the same issue. Up per the manual id dual rate down, wont go that far. Travel and endpoints in radio change nothing
I dont think its a radio issue because V1 works just fine. Unless the servos have been updated and they dont work right with my radio?
Anyway, guys, make sure you check the servos before you glue the wings on. Or swapping them out for good servos will be a bear
