I hope it's not delayed into April, since we shall be gone all of April and most of May, with no-one home.

Exactly! I got mine from RCC because I can usually bypass customs and brokerage and I'm not paying for shipping twice (once from Hong Kong to Motion - built into the purchase price, ie - "free shipping" to US customers and once from Motion to me). I'm happy to have it delayed and I don't mind paying in advance for something I really want. As we can see, RCC is "sold out" of their first allotment. I suspect Motion's first shipment may also be sold out by the time it hits US soil.Originally posted by Evan D View PostI assume Anesthesia's will be delayed too. I know he was really wanting it way earlier than he could get it from Motion. For me, when it gets here it gets here...
As far as "what's his name" at RC Guppy, he's very unpleasant, undesirable and whiney. I'm waiting for him to announce he's cancelling so RCC doesn't have his money for another month. That was the gist of his original complaint. 1.5 months vs 2.5 months vs 3.5 months (from MRC) ............................... Worst case scenario, I lost $2.00 in interest had I kept my money in my savings account and Raymond gained 2 bucks.
I feel so cheated.

Just got email from RC Castle ..................................
Due to the lifting of Covid restrictions by the Chinese government, many workers at factories (including Freewing) have become sick. Additional to this, factories are beginning New Year's preparations tomorrow. Shipment of my Eurofighter has been delayed till Feb. 13. However, on a high note, some gifts (generous IMO) will be included with the plane when it gets shipped. Personally, I'm good with it. Gives me time to work on other projects before the flying season comes.
I don't know how this relates to Motion's ETA, but since their original estimate was mid-Feb to end of March, they may still be OK. I have a feeling that Motion had this contingency plan in their estimations just in case something like this came up.

Thank you, it sounds like I should probably go ahead and get this one.Originally posted by Airguardian View Post
Having flown extensively both the Freewing Gripen and the previous Eurofighter versions, I can tell they are totally different beasts. Overall performance of the Eurofighter is much better (or it was for the older models) in terms of agility, maneuverability, CG-centering, wing loading and potential thrust to weight ratio (with upgraded fans in both cases). Faster acceleration on the Eurofighter and much more aerobatic capabilities. Also better wing-rocking features on the Euro compared to the Gripen.
On the good side, the Gripen could knife edge with some 'insistence', the Euro, not so much. At least not without a gyro.
Euro also was much better at keeping debris away from the fan when operating from grass and gravel runways, and showed less problems with the landing gear and gear doors than the Gripen did.

Wait, is there a story to it?Originally posted by Evan D View PostDo you know the history of it being reversed?
I thought it was just lazy scheme making for the DCS model! :o
But I looked for it on Google and couldn't find a single pic of the jet from the reversed side so now I'm curious what's this all about?
Big +1Originally posted by GliderGuy View PostOff topic, but I fly the first take-off 20 min before sunrise and the last landing 20 min after sunset quite a lot. Of the birds in my hangar, the AL-37 hands down has the best LED lighting scheme for these times of day. [...]
This is typically a calm part of the day, and nothing beats the sunrise / sunset view of a B-2 against the eastern/western sky.
I'm a dusk flyer myself and if the final jet doesn't feature the formation lights, they will be missed. I was reaally hyped to see them in... too bad :(

I wonder will anyone manage to fit a drogue chute like they did to the F4? 🤔

Ok the peer pressure has taken hold. I'll measure the car tonight (Euro Econobox) and if all is well I will probably place the pre-order. Wes MRC if you get a chance can you measure the height of the tail from the ground when level on its wheels and also the track width of the main gear please?
Regards, Ben.😊

We have a TV commercial here that talks about not buying something and the person having "future regret"... GO for it!

Uh Oh, have money burning a hole in my pocket.... do I preorder now and wait for a surprise delivery or do I wait for the first batch or two to be delivered and see what the general opinion of the plane is? 🤔

I have 2 of the new Lemon 10-ch stabilized RXs "in the mail" at the moment. One will go into the Typhoon.Originally posted by Evan D View PostI wrote Wes but he never replied… the tape is over one of the new stabilized Lemon receivers. Interesting that he did it. I know Motion sells Lemon though they don’t have the new 7 and 10 channel stabilized receivers on their site yet.
I tested one of the 10ch and like it but there are a few things about it that I don’t like…
During the first flight video of the Typhoon, Wes said there was NO gyro in the plane for that flight. Though it's hard to really tell for sure, I count 7 leads plugged into that RX under the tape, with one empty one, so 8-ch. Their new 10-ch has pins on both ends of the unit. Their new 7-ch has all 7 pins in one end.. Lemon hasn't had an 8-ch RX for a long time now, so perhaps this is some new, upcoming Admiral effort that they don't want shown to the public just yet or it is a stabilized RX that was used in that flight and that too, isn't something they want exposed.

Different or better? That's up to you. It's a different plane, a 90, no TV... Other than that we are guessing. I think it's going to be heavy for its size but that's my opinion. I think it's a very good looking model of a jet I like and has potential so I ordered it as soon as it was available.
No announcement of staff changes have been made here. James did his Friday podcast last Friday so he's still here.

Also, did alpha and James leave motion? I haven't been paying attention for awhile...
