  • 90mm F8 Crusader (scratch built)

Me and a few buddies have been discussing EDF’s we would like to see (like everyone else) and several always come up. The crusader is always high on the list , imagine my surprise when Julius Perdana tossed out a video on one. After looking at his plans I got out the trusty slide ruleand rescaled them to 90%.
    wingspan 40”
    length. 56”
    all motion gear was used
    90mm 3668-1960kv 12 blade fan
120 amp thrust reversing speed controller
    4 17gram servos
    2 9 gram servos
    F9F cougar front gear
    90mm F16 main gear
Old A4 decals I had laying around

This is a proof of concept airframe, I realize it is not true to scale but it is close and the Mark II versio willl rectify this. Working with depron is new to me ( always a learning curve) but I have seen nice results by Chris Wolf and others.

I have 6 flights in on it, a bit tail heavy on the maiden, had to add 1oz to the nose. Weight is 5.9 pounds, a little fragile but has good speed ,lands nice, needs cheater holes at slower speeds to allow a faster spool up.
