Should perform well wth that power unit and at that weight.

I'd still prefer a Hawker Hunter instead of another Panther.

With every plane we work on with Freewing, we try to do a variety of sizes and price points. We put a ton of time and effort into bringing you the best planes possible. Many people can't afford 80mm and 90mm jets so we have 64mm and 70mm jets. Many people don't have the space in their cars or at the flying field for large jets. Other people don't want anything smaller than a 90mm jet. I'm hoping everyone appreciates that we work with manufacturers to make a variety of planes in a variety of different sizes at a variety of different price points.

Very nice, I have loved the Panther since a kid. I like to watch my copy of The Bridges at Toko Rie, and fast forward through the the talking parts. Grace Kelly and the Panther are the true stars of the movie.

This is absolutely true. There isn't a release that occurs without the litany of "...I wish..." posts. There's no Magic RC Plane Genie. We only get to "wish" by purchasing what we want bad enough to pay for.

Had it been me making the decision, I'd have done the Panther (80mm) before the Cougar -- I too am a long time fan of Bridges at Toko Ri, and did an Aeronaut Models 90mm F9F in Brubaker's markings. But with the Cougar being produced, there is no good argument for basically duplicating that model in the same size (swept vs. straight wing notwithstanding). By the way, I've seen two Cougars in our club, and it's easily one of the best designed and flying EDFs IMO. Just outstanding work by Freewing.

It looks to me like Freewing did a great job of making a 70mm version of the Panther -- if it wasn't for the fact that I have the Aeronaut (which represents a ton of $$$ investment), I'd be all in -- and may yet be.

I always liked the Panther, so I ordered one. Should be a lot of fun in a compact size.

FW and Motion are tearing it up this whole year, amazing planes actually giving what most of us want. The quick disconnect wings, some plastic protection on wings etc better gear sorry hated the 3.1 pins now 4.1 front helps tons. Mostly some seriously cool scale features. I have a good amount of 80-90’s some 70’s but after flying the 70 Raptor has me wanting to buy this one also. Good job Motion and FreeWing

It was just my personal opinion, you guys make awesome planes, no doubt about that! Now i can still hope one day you'll make an 80 version, the F 22 is also availible in different sizes, so why not...

I am with you on wanting a Hunter, but….

We are not exactly overrunning with larger Panther ARFs. The Aeronaut 90mm Panther is a kit. The RC Lander offering is long out of production. We have had a 64mm as the only generally available Panther ARF for a good while.

I echo others in wishing it was an 80mm, but I embraced the new 70mm offering and got one.

I ordered the 70mm Panther right after the video dropped Monday night.

It arrived Thursday at about 1030AM.

I assembled it right away and put the first flight on it Thursday at about 545.

                            Really, Really like it!

No assembly issues to speak off. A solid performer with a very nice turn of speed.

I started a thread over at the other place and detailed the first flight.

I am really looking forward to the next flight!

Well got mine all together, overall a great plane with lots of nice features, but I have one issue. The carbon rod in the left wing was glued in at a different angle so the left wing droops at a lower dihedral angle than the right wing when they are locked into place, you can see the gap on the top when connected together.

I put the first two successful flights on the Panther today. I used 4000mah packs. I set the airplane up pretty much by the manual. I also used a Spektrum 8 channel receiver and set up AS3X+. The Panther flew great, and needed some down trim only. The roll rate is fast, but very smooth. It has nice vertical with big loops being easily achieved. It has good speed and handles very well.

The Panther sets up nicely for landing, and the flaps work well. Even with a slight crosswind the Panther stayed lined up with the center line with minimal rudder inputs. Reverse thrust helps with slowing the Panther down once on the runway. I wasn’t doing much with throttle management and still got 4 minutes. Going to be a fun jet.

Next flights I’ll move the battery very slightly back. It felt a little nose heavy balanced at the marks.
