build still in process but I have a question. I wanted a belly lander with a working rudder. I installed a 9g servo in the tail. I'm also swapping out the esc for a Avian 45a lite for the battery telemetry.

Currently the empty weight of the aircraft is 600g, I needed to install my heaviest 4s 2600 mAh battery (271g) and 28g of lead in the nose to get the CG right. AUW is now 900g

Does that seem too heavy for hand launch?

      Thanks,

      Drew

Nope sounds fine. Also have you considered going 6S?

After some coffee, my math says the wing loading in the configuration listed above is 20.77 oz./Sq.ft. OR 62.3g/dm2

          Go or No-Go?

              Update:

So the maiden went perfect! The f-86 v2 with a 4s 2600 battery and total weight 900g was a success. Power wasn't an issue. The wind was a steady 6-8mph which probably helped a hand launch, belly lander. I set the CG and rates by the book with 10% expo.

I used a spektrum AR630 that I upgraded to AS3X+ The new hand launch assist feature is extremely appreciated.

For $155 you can't go wrong!

How is the rudder you added working out? Worth the effort? I found it curious they added what looks to me like a spot for control horns but didn't add the servo itself.

Can I use a 4s 3300 battery in this plane? Will it still fly well?
