The foam on my HSD f16 is way better and denser than on my fms 1700mm p51, quality is superb, add in the nice retracts and the awesomeness and it's worth it.

I'll probably end up getting one as well....UNLESS Motion brings us that new 70mm in Tbird scheme...my current 90mm is starting to yellow really bad ,not to mention the out of whack ailerons. so Ive been considering this one now.

Understood. It IS a lot of money for foam but for what it's worth I believe it's worth the price tag. Really quality, dense foam. I always forgot it was foam until I would see the gear doors (which ironically should be plastic). The quality is outstanding. Still, I get the hesitancy for a foam jet. My biggest regret after purchasing was not having a large, completely unobstructed place to fly her. I was always on edge flying her due to the buildings and trees, light poles, etc, etc. I will get another one down the road though.

This plane looks so damn awesome but I'm having some trouble bringing myself to spending 1K! on foam, not to mention the added major cost of batteries which could lead to closer to $1300 or more. I think I'll stand by to stand by for now :(

I've flown mine with 2 x 6200 zippy compacts 40c. Approx 860g each. If you move the rx battery into the middle hatch, I've velcro'd mine to the underside then it balances very well. I reckon 4 minutes flight time but you limit your potential landing / aborted landings to two. My rx battery is a 2s 3400.

Oh yeah, if you are used to gas, EDF flying is a shock to the system. 3 minutes is normal for most EDF flights. If you like this model I recommend the turbine version.

Ack... maybe I'll stick to my smaller stuff (where I'm getting 5 or 6 at least).

Sorry, I fly mostly giant scale gas, where a 10-15 minute flight is the norm.

Honestly I am not sure...It was a tight fit with both Admiral 6S 5000's and the 2S receiver battery. I think most people are getting 3 to 3-and-a-half minute flights on average, regardless of batteries.

Ouch... is there any potential for using something bigger (i.e., is their room and would it fly OK at a heavier weight)?

Aros, what battery(s) are you using to get a flight time of only 3 minutes?

    No... wanted to maiden today

but I feel like I'm back in the northwest with all the rain we have had...

so... looks like a maiden at Jetjam...along with my FW A10, 90mm yak, and my ME262

Nice! I love the Arctic scheme on the F-16. Just finished flying my 70mm version. Did you fly it yet?

I went ahead and bought a replacement front nose gear unit so I could fly this sucker....

Stuck it in the other day so I can take it to jet jam.... But I didn't want to take it in the blaaaaaa grey. Well I already have a tan aggressor (tams) and a blue aggressor (90mm FW), and the Israeli camo I love (FW 70mm)....so I decided to do the arctic.

Painted it, weathered it a bit and decals in about four hours.....
    Didn't come out to bad

No kidding! My knees were knocking every single flight. Once she's all dialed in with CG/throws she's a ***** cat. Good luck! Keep us posted on the second flight.

[QUOTE=Aros.MotionRC;n78040]175mm is on the aft edge of the CG. I maidened mine around there as well and like you, I just about lost her. I moved her forward to 165mm and she was MUCH better. Most split the difference and fly her at 170mm. I measured mine the same way. Glad she's still in one piece! Definitely move the CG forward to 165-170mm...You will see a big difference.[/

Hey, thanks for the info. I hope to do better on the 2nd flight, I sure would hate to destroy such a beautiful jet

Hi everyone, I have a question about the CG on this beautiful jet. I made my maiden flight today and I'm lucky I didn't bring it home in a trash bag. It was almost impossible to control at anything below 3/4 throttle. It was very pitch sensitive. I had CG set at 175mm which I measured with gear down and the aircraft right side up, is this the right way to set it up? Thanks
