What's the size of the battery compartment? I have two 6000ma 6C's I'd like to use.
Anyone have a pic of the radio bay?

That happened to me once and it is tucked back in there so far that I had to remove it to plug in the gear servos and then stick it back in. Honestly, can't remember exactly where each plug went, but did it trial and error until it worked. The sad part is that I have the manual for the landing gear sequencer and I still couldn't figure it out.
I've attached a photo of the manual if that helps. If I remember correctly (which is a long shot), I think the 2 main gear servos went into the outside 2 ports, labeled Synchronous cabin door control on the manual. The nose gear then would go into the middle port labeled Asynchronous cabin door. Then again, it could be just the opposite.
Good luck!

The plugs came out of the landing gear sequencer on my Stinger 90. Can someone please confirm where the three retract plugs into the sequencer? I've tried looking for a setup guide and even the manual isn't showing anything. Thanks!!Leave a comment:

Much appreciated Alpha, coming from you that's high praise indeed. Callie's custom graphics really made the project, just sent her some pictures of what I wanted and the size and she miraculously came up with graphics that were even better than the pictures I sent her.
At this point, I'm not sure which sport jet I like better, my Avanti or this Stinger. The Stinger does fly outstanding and even with the stock out-runner it's plenty fast for me and gives 4-5 minutes on the 6000mah. Not bad, and after replacing the servo connections with the locking 5 pins, it assemblies in a snap (something I hated before and occasionally pulled wires out of the connectors at the end of the day-and no blue box to worry about!). Glad it didn't get discontinued. I was thinking of not replacing it at first and instead going with the plain F-18 and building out the Royal Canadian Demo Team (although I did get the graphics already from Callie, purchase the receiver and afterburner for it) but that's going to have to wait till Christmas, in case Santa actually reads my wish list.

That's a Stinger 90?!? 'One of my first projects with Freewing and I could barely recognize it! Superb rework, Hugh!Leave a comment:

Already posted this info on "What did you fly today", but putting it here also for those few Stinger 90 lovers. Long story short, 1st Stinger took off into the Everglades so I bought a 2nd and repainted it as well. It flies even better than the first (which is only 2 posts above). Made some minor changes to the scheme on the elevators and underside and also put an RC Geek afterburner in. I get 4:30 or more on an Admiral 6000. Biggest change was redoing the connectors to Chris Hansen's 5 pin latching polarized connectors, getting rid of "wire monster" and the need to plug and unplug 6 connectors each time assembling and taking apart the jet. God I hated that and it almost stopped me from rebuilding a 2nd. This is so nice now, I recommend it to anyone with a Stinger and any other bird with a "wire monster".
This 2nd Stinger flies almost a easy as my Avanti, yet is much faster and more powerful with only slightly more speed (1-2 click) needed on landing approach. Cruises at 50% throttle all day. All is right in Whoville again!

It's been a while since anyone posted anything on the Stinger thread, so I thought I'd resurrect it. Also posted this in the Callie Picture gallery, but thought it should also be in the Stinger 90 thread.
This was my first EDF and at the beginning, I hated it cause I couldn't fly it for sh... First 10 flights were comical to watch, almost crashing several times, losing orientation at full throttle and trying to land at 50mph while everyone on the field ran for cover while I bent several nose gears and destroyed multiple retracts. Then, somehow, a light went on :Ligthbulb: and I realized I didn't have to fly it flat out all the time and it slowed down nicely for landing. Now I love flying it, but absolutely hated the paint job. Got tied up with the Corsair, Spitfire, F-4's and the B-24's so didn't have the time to repaint it, but finally said either repaint the Stinger or burn it. The real "kiss of death" was that there were always a couple other Stingers flying at the field and you guessed it, I can't have my plane look like anyone else's. Took me a couple of months to come up with the scheme (even though my truck and a .60 nitro hydroplane I have are the same colors and were starring me in the face all the time-man I can be stupid at times) and then found some interesting images and sent them to Callie. She, of course, did an outstanding job and the repaint was on it's way.
If you have this jet, it begs for a repaint. With the name Stinger, why the ugly red and white? Needs to have "stinger" colors Flight Line! For a small fee, (like free FL planes for the rest of my life ) I'll gladly license the scheme to Freewing and I'm sure the thing will sell like hot cakes (obviously I don't know squat about marketing).:Silly:6 PhotosLeave a comment:

Although I do have a special place in my heart for the Stinger since it flies phenomenal, the Avanti took the crown away from it for me. I personally think it is better in almost every way and an overall better value, especially these days with the advancements in tech. in comparison to when the Stinger 90 was first released on the market.Leave a comment:

Haven't heard that, but wouldn't surprise me due to the quality and great flight characteristics of the Avanti S...
I own a Stinger 90, but if something happens to it I would not replace it with another. I would get another Avanti instead, it just flys that much better. In my opinion, looks better too!!!

Anyone heard rumors of the Stinger 90 being discontinued? I noticed there are only 2 left in stock at MRC. Hopefully there's more on the way!?Leave a comment:

Do not worry about the rudder being reversed. On some brand of transmitters you have to reverse some channels. Standard operating procedure. Yes reversing things mechanically is best, but in some cases it can not be done that way and you have to do it in the transmitter.Leave a comment:

are you running the fan ? if you are, then it would be normal for the esc to get warm.Leave a comment:
