Moving right along. Almost ready to start the wing sections.

I've ordered all the servos, retracts, wheels, struts and power gear for the Spitfire.

Cant wait to see the final result, 3D printing at its best...

That's some juice with that esc motor combo you got there.

I was not happy with the prints so I kept tuning.
I do expect I will do some sanding and filler.
But really its all about how it looks in the air :)

Hey, every once in a while, I have to put in an unexpected appearance, keeps you on your toesLOL
Actually, Diane's Honda had to go in for repairs, wouldn't start without jump starting it. It's so slow at work right now, that I just took a PTO day and we got the danged thing in for repairs, turns out it was the Serpentine belt.
Spent most of the day working on the T-45 manual, so it wasn't wasted.
More to the point, I'm totally fascinated with this new way of model construction. Now, I wonder if you could do a hybrid 3d printer/balsa plane? I was thinking of something like a Hawker Hurricane where the rib and fab would be balsa and the forward fuse would be plastic....

That would be interesting. I need to learn how to design some of this stuff for sure.

My next scratchbuild project will be a hybrid 3D printed/conventional construction, doing a 1/30 2M wingspan A330-300. I am hoping to get to it this spring after I finish up my FW A-10 modding and 3D printed MiG-15 build.

I'll post a new topic in this sub-forum when I finally have something to show for it.

Worked on the smaller spitfire this weekend.

I really like the transparent and yellow.

It was actually healthy to do another project for a little bit. I'd been so focused on the big Spitfire print.
So finishing off the little has been fun, just need to install the servos and ailerons.

                                The update

The flight of the previous plane which was way under powered.

Can't wait to fly this one. I really like the clear/yellow vs the first plane with the green and black.

Mine is the ANET A8 but seems like the go to this year is the CR10 and of course the Prusa MK3.
If I had the budget I'd buy a the MK3.

Copy that, I will take a look at both... I'm thinking of using this for building the ribs on my flying wing as well as build some of these when the va finally decides to do what they need to do.

I might actually start gluing some of these sections together.
Each wing is 6 sections long. 1700mm total wing span.
Decided I would do the tips vs clipped wing model.
The tips are currently being printed.

Really like the new bed and did install an OctoPrint setup so I can remotely
(from the living room) monitor the prints and stop them if required.
