Thanks for the inputs guys! I ended up getting the yellow 1400mm FMS T28. I plan to build it this weekend. It is supposed to be a rainy weekend, so not sure when I will get to maiden it, but looking forward to it.

Itll be great I'm positive of it! If on a grass field just remember to come in smooth on the mains and then let the nose come down. For some reason those nose gears have the worst time on grass fields unless you are on it perfectly

In my opinion a nice choice.

If you have a rough, bumpy surface like mine, the big 2.0m Eflite T-28 is the way to go. Mind you, it's the only T-28 I've ever owned, so for me, it's the best. It's big, heavy, large tires, huge flaps, powerful 6s system and needless to say, fast. Now that I've got a 3-blade prop, it's even faster but with flaps all the way down, it's just floats along. Lands as slow as any of the smaller ones at my field. And it has never done a nose over while taxiing like most of the smaller ones do.

Yes indeed... I still have to grab a 3 blade for mine:Silly:

The big CZ T-28 is by far the best foam offering out there. Mine is three years old now and still supplys rock solid performance. I’m using a Master Airscrew 16x10 beechwood prop for 8+ minutes of flight with superb power output.

I agree, the CZ T-28 is a real sweetheart to fly. Changed out to a Master Airscrew 16*8*3 blade prop. Also added a Mr Sound system and changed to different scheme. Get about 8 min flight time

I posted a video to fix the front landing gear issue on the v4 or any of them for that matter.

A club member just bought an EFlite and immediately added a different nose gear, 80 amp ESC and 4S battery, and then clear coat Polycryllic. Looked sharp on her maiden flight this morning.

Thanks Woody. I decided on this one for a couple of reasons. Mainly size/cost. The CZ T28 is really nice, but takes so much space to store and transport, and is nearly 500, vs. 329.00. Also, I have lots of 4S batteries, and very few 6S sizes. However, if they ever run a good sale on the CZ T28, I will likely end up with one!

I didn't get around to building mine this weekend, as I was informed by my wife that I had to go to a wedding on Saturday, and then a large part of Sunday was taken up with a summer pool party. On the plus side,I had taken a couple of planes along, the UMX yellow T28, and the UMX Timber, to the party site hoping that there might be room to fly some. As it turned out, he had a huge back yard, and I was able to get in some flying. Several people there were interested in it too, and commenting that they might have to get into RC flying as well!

The T-28 is an easy plane to fly IMO and some say you can use it as a trainer as it was for the Airforce and Navy, I had no problem going from tail drager to nose wheel, Just flair more so you don't land on the nose wheel first. R.

I ended up getting the E-Flite T-28 Trojan 1.2m BNF Basic EFL 8350.
As I am used to E-Flite aircraft and I think this one will help me "learn better", for I wore out the little yellow RTF E-Flite T-28 Trojan and did good with my tail dragger (E-Flite P47D Razorback 1.2m) for it's maiden flight and 2 more, but then for some odd reason I could no longer take off without veering to the left after stalling.
My friends in my RC club said I should go with a larger version of the aircraft I started flying with 3 months ago (the little yellow E-Flite T-28 Trojan) , and thus sticking with the "tricycle" type landing gear (1 nose and 2 wing landing gear). and to practice taxi down the runway getting used to steering while gain speed down the runway with a little up elevator and then giving it more power and less elevator once the wheels leave the ground.
It was a real downer to go from being able to fly that P47D and then have my skills degress.
Maybe I was not ready for that P47D as its hard to steer with the tail wheel/rudder steering.
I hope the larger T-28 is more forgiving than the P47D, when it comes to the Tricycle gear versus tail dragging on take off.

Hey Chip! I wouldn't give up on that Eflight P-47 just yet. That is if it still lives mate. That is a great flying P-47, and with the Safe function, and AS3X Stability is a pretty sweet and forgiving flyer. When you take of the P-47, simply turn the safe on. Throttle up on your run slow and smoothly. Make sure to add right rudder as you give it more throttle, IE your adding torque, (it want's to turn left). Once your basically flying on the main gear, gently pull is up into a gentle climb. Once your up, it fly's almost exactly like a T-28. Landing is much easier. Hardest part is getting it lined up with the runway. Once you have a good line, flip the safe on, and throttle back gently. The E-flight P-47 is a great flyer, and very forgiving. Don't give up.

                                Best Regards

I won't Woody, in fact I was reveiwing my settings for the P47D last night and I noticed the dual rates were missing and AS3X as well as SAFE was not set up.
This may explain part of the issue and difference between the maiden flight/day and last weekend.
Amazingly, it is all glued back together and damage is hardly noticeable.

EXCELLENT! These P-47's are honestly a snap to take of and land in the safe mode. Just take is slow and steady. You'll get bored with the safe mode quickly, but not for landing, LOL I always use it. Good luck mate.

Hands down the eFlite Carbon Z 2.0 is the clear winner in those size classes.. incredibly great flyer.. my only problem is I want the older RED 3/bladed prop they discontinued unfortunately. The yellow is nice.. but a T-28 needs a 3 bladed prop IMHO.. and Red is my FAV color for sure.
