Here's one of Dave Scott flying my P51B in Wisconsin, and some of our field here in Cody.  The field was neglected for quite a while, but a bunch of us got together and revamped the runway and recovered the tables.  One guy came with a front end loader and dragged and area for a dirt/grass runway.
Looks great now.  The runway is 500 feet!

The grass and the cracks in the runway are all gone and filled in now. As a matter of interest, what are some of the club dues you guys are paying?

This is what our field looks like when it hasn't rained 3 months straight.

And this is what it looks now, after 3 months of rain/flooding. Two local lakes have poured over into the area. 3 other local fields have offered their friendly Texas welcomes to fly at their fields until ours dries out.

This was our previous flying site in Farmers Branch, Texas before the owner of the 30 acre lot was forced to remove the pavement to prep for land sale.
We really miss this place! It was private, open, and ours for about 2 years. Now we weep every time we pass it.

Gross - Local club (25-30 miles away) is 100 a year. Didn't join as they are all oversized plane flyers and its grass only. I have a good park that is quiet and spacious I use for now. Nashville TN clubs look to be about 40-50 a year.

Here's my club, Cape Ann RC Model Club in Amesbury, Ma, I live in a more suburban area north of Boston where there are pretty limited places to fly, so it takes me about 35 minutes to get there but its worth it, having a field that's guaranteed to be available to fly and one where the grass is always maintained does it for me, no more trying school fields where your at the mercy of sports teams. Its on top of a hill which gives a rather nice view of the surrounding area, and the tall grass around the runway is quite forgiving if something goes wrong.

1st pic is not mine, got it from the club FB page, but gives the overall idea.

Beautiful field SOB, wish the grass would grow like that here as well.
So $50/year seems a average amount, would you believe they charge $15/year here and people complain???  Go figure why we have trouble maintaining the fields (we have three)
Thanks for the info, I'll talk with some of the executives here and see what happens.

I pay $75 with the first year being $90. Which I initially thought was a tad steep, but given the location and the condition of the field and unlimited flying availability its worth it IMO.
