This planes flies so easy. I flew in low rate with a training box as I really didn't know what to expect. I love..love this bird. Doesn't need the amount of input as the Carbon Cub tail dragger, obviously. I just flew in clockwise/counter-clockwise pattern to get a feel for it, some figure 8's. Did a barrel roll and loop, inline twist. I'm grinning ear to ear.

Glad the flight went well! The P-47 sure looks good in the air. I had a love-hate relationship with mine until I got it really dialed in. I found out that I need to fly it with way more throttle than I was used to, and that made a big difference. I was too close to stall speed at cruise and it felt mushy, unstable, and unresponsive. Having a flap out of alignment didn't help either.

Congrats man! It is always an awesome feeling when a maiden flight goes good.

What are the specs on this plane? It is really nice looking.

I have the earlier Eflite P47, and it doesnt fly terrible. The one that suprised me was the Eflite Corsair. It flies on rails and is rock steady. Its become my fav warbird. Also have the Force Rc P51, and its not bad with the Admiral gyro. Just picked up the Dynam Hellcat, but havent flown it yet. Its getting a makeover first. Warbirds are definitely fun and addicting.

I also fly the Parkzone Corsair and Eflite P-47. The Corsair landings can be a handful until you finally body memory the stick inputs and throttle management. The P-47 is an easy takeoff and landing bird, not anything like the Corsair (Corsair is my favorite too). Now just learning to control the new Pitts 850mm. It can be quite twitchy on takeoff & landing. One thing I learned yesterday from a much more experienced RC flyer is that the aileron-rudder mix I had programmed is good while airborne but hurting my takeoffs & landings. When I inhibited the mix, my takeoffs/landings were much more stable and more controllable. That new P-47 does look great! I just placed my order for the Force RC P-51 PNP (black friday sale comes with the AR620 receiver all for $149). My 2nd P-51. My 1st was an ultra micro P-51. I hope the Force RC flies as well as the ultra micro.

Ive had no issues with the Force Rc P51. Only thing I've found is that when landing on grass, either full stall the landing, or if you wheel land, pin the tail immediately. Had quite a few I let roll out and ended up on its nose. Other than that, it flies very nice, no bad characteristics that I've found.

How does the AR620 differ than one with AS3X? Don't think it does anything different, right? Just don't have AS3X

AS3X is a gyro stabilizing feature that some Spektrum RXs have. This is not to be confused with RXs that have "SAFE" or GPS enabled geofencing and return to home, which may also have AS3X. The AR620 also has some telemetry features as well.

The new 620 also has no external antenna. It has a bind button rather than a plug so you can bind when you're ready. Simply push and hold the button. If they make this reciever with AS3X, it'll be perfect.
