I agree the Albatross is unique looking it is on my list but a little way down for now. I'm really glad MRC is getting more of the Dynam line I think they're great for the price.

If it flies as well as the Horizon Hobby Albatross, it should be a fantastic plane! Just wish they made other WWI planes too, like the Sopwith Camel or Fokker DVII.

        Greetings Guys,

        I agree....

I would really like to see Dynam keep it going with the 50" warbirds Bipes.

I have found that the 50" planes just seem to fit right in my wheel house for size and handling.

The 50" Waco is a dream and I'm hoping this larger scale Albatros will follow suit.

Wonder what the latest ETA status on the Dynam's are??

It's a beauty and I want one, however, that tiny little pilot has to go. He is almost 1/2 the size he shoud be. Compare his head with the instrument dials. If this plane were scaled up to full, his head would be about 4" wide, or the dials would be 8" across, one or the other. What were they thinking?! Doc

From what I can see online it I see no indication this plane is "coming soon" as on Motion RC. I emailed Motion RC and asked them about it. I see nothing on Dynam's web site. I sure hope it is coming out.

We will be getting this plane in soon it is not a mistake, and I have not heard that dynam was not making this plane. We should have it here mid September or so.
                      Thanks Brad

Does anyone know if the markings on this (ie) the iron crosses for the wings etc come on decal sheet or factory applied?

A cool looking airplane but I think an email to callie for some custom historic graphics will really make it pop.

                          Greetings Gang,

If you YouTube the Dynam Albartos you will find an Unboxing of the plane done by Nitro Planes/Hobby Partz.

                          www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mdwA3aRZic

If I remember correctly, the crosses etc., come on a decal sheet.
This might be useful if your really into scale accuracy as on other forums I've heard folks mention that the crosses are wrong i.e., Iron Cross vs. Maltese Cross, etc.

Personally, I couldn't care, I just want the plane.

DOC, you nailed it my friend!!!! That pilot looks like something from a food depravation test lab!!!
It's really bad and the absolute first thing to go!!

Man, mid-September seems like forever away!!

                              Great looking plane!

Now as a rookie how much harder is a Bi-plane to fly?
                              Off with one helluva roar!

My experience with biplanes is that they are pretty easy to fly. I think the tendency for most is to "overfly" a biplane, but the ones I have are actually pretty easy to fly, and will fly very slowly, especially at landing. This is only based on my Horizon Hobby Albatross, the Dynam Tiger Moth, and an Art Tech Pitts Special. The Pitts does handle faster than the other two as it is designed to be aerobatic.

I would think that once you have gotten confident with a 4 channel trainer, a biplane would make a good second plane.

                                  RE: The Dynam 50" Albatros!!

I have a Dynam Abatros, it is a really good looking plane, on the ground and in the air.  I had to add a LOT of weight to the nose to get it balanced for decent flight.  I painted mine, which does add some weight aft of the CG, but it took 6 oz to get the thing to fly.  Be prepared to use a lot of rudder to get it to turn!

That said, a member of our club has one that is completely stock and he had to add only about an ounce to the nose of his and it flies great.

I like the looks enough to get another once Motion has them.  It will be interesting to see if my current problems are the result of a bad day in the QC department.

I do like that the sprung landing gear handles our grass field, even with the added lead in the nose of my plane.

                                    Greetings XF,

It is said that the bigger the plane the easier it is to fly.

Well, big plane or small, if it is constructed correctly and setup and balanced appropriately it will fly well.
Bigger planes fly with greater stability/visibility and have a much less 'twitchy' nature than their smaller counterparts.

Since the Albatros is a Dynam 50" Bi-Plane, like the 50" Waco, I have to think it will carry a lot of the same, extremely stable flight characteristics.
The Waco is an awesome flying aircraft.
