The 800mm T-28 is an excellent flyer because........well, it's a T-28 and they are all good flyers.
I would recommend you give extra attention to the CG as all of the FMS 800mm series is a bit hit or miss on the CG specs.
Also, don't be stingy with the Expo especially on the first couple of flights. The 800mm series can be quite twitchy on mid-high to high rates.
It's much better to go with a bit too much till it's tweaked out then to fight it from the get go and hope to keep it in the air long enough to settle it down.

Hey everyone maiden didnt go so well, broke the prop on take off. It was my fault . I had a brain fart. I was using the RTF radio which I dont like. Since then I went and picked up a DX6. Also what props can I use with the stock motor, it seems that I need an adapter for the motor shaft since i cant get other props to fit correctly due to the way the motor is designed . I might change that out to, but i have to cut off the front of the plane from what i read. Really dont want to do thatComment

MRC has plenty of FMS 800mm T28 V2, 7 x 6, 3-blade Propellers in stock.
That's the way I would go. Just look under the spare parts tab.

I video taped this thinking I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I can sometimes fly this bird, and sometimes not. Even under similar situations. When I was flying it often, I would hand launch three flights one after another. Then the fourth launch would lawn dart to the ground. Like someone else was flying it...
So, I took it to the field two days ago. It was windy. Even for the planes that I know how to fly... I just thought, what the heck... I'm going to go all out. Not only fly in stronger wind than I normally do -- but do it with the plane that I have the hardest time flying... It was one of those thoughts that entered my head, and I thought to myself... Yeah, right -- like I'm going to do that... Pretty soon it was an ulcer eating at me as I sat alone in the field. I had to do it! Even though I though I could just crash...
I told myself. Just get it up for one go around! I did, and the wind pushed me down before I planned, but all in all, I flew with control over it for a good 80% of the flight! Lol!
I use low rates at 70%. But this bird needs even lower. There were times in this flight that I felt completely sideways... It was a hairy 30 second flight! Broken prop at touchdown, but nothing else! That was a slight success for me! Lol

Thanks Bill. It is a different dashboard. But you are right. I painted the back of the foam before putting it on. Can't wait to fly it with the new detail. And getting the camera angle decent.

Here's an early flight of the FMS 800mm T28. I think this was on 2S... But this was before it crashed. Before I knew what a chance I was taking. This field is the one that I fly at during lunch time. I would never fly that T28 there now. Knowing what I know. I look at this video now and think of what a gutsy idiotic pilot I was back then! :) ignorance was bliss! And I didn't even hear my knees knocking back then, while flying that plane... Like they do now. :) aren't you supposed to get better with this after practice? Lol!
Just look at that horrible hand launch that almost stalled out!

Well, given that I have NEVER seen the 800mm T-28 hand launched before, and the fact that it didn't stall (although it surely should have with that little flick-of-the-wrist launch) I'd say that all-in-all it was a pretty good flight!!

Hey Bill. I have had lots of hand launches on tall grass. But that video was before I upgraded to 3S 1100, which made a difference for me. I won't lie. It was still a plane that I had to "Stay Frosty" flying... :)

An old flight. From about two years ago. And I have been only flying for three. This was a better hand launch, but I still didn't know how to land... Lol!

This was my horrible crash two years ago. It was flying with plenty of speed. I thought it was a servo problem. Never found out...
Hold your ears when it crashes, or turn your volume down if you are offended by frustrated expletives!

With this video, trying to take off on this cricket pitch... I veer off the strip, but go for it anyway. This was quite a while ago. Looking at it now, I know that it didn't have enough speed and too sudden an acceleration for lift off. But it's always fun to look at these. And remember back when I was first flying it... Or trying to. I was convinced that there was something wrong with the plane, as I couldn't get it off the ground, time after time...
