I'm sorry but I read through this thread but I didn't see who the manufacturer of your beautiful plane was. I'm sorry to see what happened to your plane. You did some awesome work.Leave a comment:

Still debating what’s next. I’d love to do the same treatment on a Balsa Hangar 9 version if I can hunt one down. I’ve also got a lead on a smaller option, a Flying Styro Kit B-25. There may still be another LX B-25 in the future, but not sure yet.F106DeltaDart Ouch, very sorry to read about your B-25. Your rebuild is/was 'top-notch'. I hope after the requisite grief period, you might reconsider another rebuild. Best to you and yours, LBLeave a comment:

That just breaks my heart. I know the effort, time and skill you put into that lovely bird. They say all models have an expiration date but when so much devotion has been put into it, you hope the day never comes.Leave a comment:

Today was a very painful day at the field. My beloved aluminum covered Miss Mitchell suffered an in-flight complete failure of the left prop. This was the maiden flight with a new radio, and the aircraft was out of trim, and I did not recognize that the propeller failed until analyzing the wreckage. While turning final, the aircraft departed into a violent spin and impacted nose first.
The wreckage is pretty severe. Wing spars pulled through completely, the nose was totally destroyed, and the tail section separated at impact. Many of the electronics are salvageable though. Not sure I will attempt a rebuild with all of the work that I had into this aircraft.
Final NTSB Recommendation: For those running the FMS props, I recommend a regular inspection of the hubs, and possibly a replacement every 30ish flights.1 PhotoLeave a comment:

F106DD, Very sorry to read that. Are there parts available or do you start from scratch? Best, LBLeave a comment:

Flew the B-25 this afternoon and one of my buddies got some awesome shots of it in the air. Unfortunately, the nose gear collapsed on landing and threw the canopy through the prop, which instantly shredded it. It’s going to need some substantial work before it flies again.6 PhotosLeave a comment:
