It would have been a real coincidence but I thought a guy named Dewey flying a dynam hellcat could have been you.

Hey Dewey do you know Gary McConnel? If so I just watched a video on YouTube he posted that showed you landing your hellcat and P47 gasser.

I guess I have never had a issue with the retract itself but the strut is soft like butter lol. But maybe if you put a stronger strut in then the retract would break. Please do keep us advised. Its a fun plane and light as a feather.

I may do a video of the conversion.

Let us know if the eflite f4u retracts fit without mods or it would be the same as putting on the universal eflite rotating retracts. And yes all dynam retracts are bad. I agree they have some really great planes for the money but it is a shame they don't put a better retract in and charge a few dollars more.

I just ordered the E-flite F4U-4 Corsair retracts, the set that quit working had only been bench operated twice...I just don't understand why Dynam does address this, the airframe itself is great.

They should look ok with the strut covers on.

Iv decided when I get around to it I'm going with the eflites. They have the coil for a little suspension and I have never had one fail.

Lol good answer. There is a big difference between need and want. If I really wanted it she wouldn't say anything. Iv got 2 new planes I'm still sorting out and a few old ones I want to knock the dust off of so I'm good with what I have for now.

Forgiveness is easier to come by than permission. My wife came out to the hanger today and asked "How many planes do you need?"...I simply answered "None".

No but they should be the same pattern, I've been looking at them for my Dynam Hellcat and Corsair as I'm sure the stock ones will fail eventually...I think I will also get the wheel set.

The best thing to do is order the Dynam Corsair and put these retracts on it then you will have the Dynam Corsair retracts as spares for the Hellcat and you get an extra plane...this is the logic I use all the time.

I would be glad to help any time.

I'll do exactly that Tirediron. I consider you a master and coming from you I'd be stupid not to take the advice. Thank-you for coming on and giving the recommendation. That does seem the easiest way to. Might I pm you sometime when I need a little help with some other project that may arise.
