It would be cool I'll give you that.
The only argument I can see, other than the usual, would be that it would be in black and black foam will not like the heat too much.

            Just saying

The Black Widow's iconic name sake was because of the special formulated gloss black that was derived as anti-spotlight camouflage but it also wore OD green, admiral blue and sandy brown. The Navy vet in me will opt for the blue. Here's another very interesting fact, it used the same R-2800 class of radial engine that was used on the F8F. So FL has now released the Bearcat which means they already have the powerplants for the Widow. OK FliteLine, MAKE IT SO but actually use the P-38's motors cause they're a 20kV higher rating.

And how about its close sister the F7F Tigercat!
That would be a great follow up as well.

Would purchase a p-61 without hesitation(only have room for 2 more aircraft once the mig shows up )and based on the number of views a p-61 would be as big a hit as the p-38. Any chance the rc community can figure out a way to make black finish work? Primer/top coat? Base coat /protective finish? Space shuttle paint? OD or sand would still be a beautiful model but black finish is the iconic version. Even if black not offered i would love to see decals and antenna included for blackwidow version. Now if santa can get this done by Christmas, i see a very large box under the tree. (my wife cant argue about a gift from santa, right?)

FL did offer 2 color schemes for the P38, so it certainly could be possible to offer black and OD/grey..which is the color I like best..OD with lots of weathering.

Rclander has done a plastic coating over some of their jets. I wonder if the same type of thing would make the black scheme practical on a P-61?
