ok that newbie is me. first of all I didn't think I was that close to the trees. and I thought it would be cool to stick a camera on it. I think the wind pushed the plane around right before I got to the tree line and the SAFE stuff was taking over my control. I wanted to keep turning left but it went straight.
It took a 2" chunk out of the wing. and broke the cowl and a little bit of the tip of the prop. I could still fly it actually. these Apprentice sts planes can take a pretty good lick. it makes a pretty cool video. I sacrificed $70 in parts just for your entertainment.

. This hobby is an interesting one, and no matter how advanced a person gets there will be occasional errors that occur. It's an everlasting learning experience, and the crash will teach you a lot and so will errors in the future. If anyone says they never make an error or crash an RC aircraft, I'd have a very difficult time believing the person. Errors occur less often as experience grows, but they will be made (I made one today, LOL
). One great part about it is how a person controls their attitude and outlook towards it. You already sound positive and learning from it. That's a large part of how to stay in the hobby and being successful with it.
