Hey all, I was hoping to get some advise on a good motor for a plane I just purchased. The plane is a World Models Outragous EF1 Racer . the recommended power is a KM37490750 - 37-49 750kv out runner ( specs- operating power 900W, operating voltage 3s-5s , operating current 30-45 amp,Peak current 65 Amp (Max 15 seconds)internal resistance 24 m ohms, diameter 37.2 Length 48.5 ,weight 190 grams, shaft diameter 5mm. ) with 40 Amp brushless esc and 11x8 E prop. the problem is this motor is out of stock and no telling if it will be back, so that being said what motor recommendations do you guys have for me as I want the plane to preform well and be FAST :) there just docent seem to be other 37-49 750 kv options out there. I really appreciate any help.. Happy flying !

What's the clearance between the spinner and the ground when the fuselage datum is parallel to the ground?

An oversquare prop is the ticket. If you're after big power and don't mind weighing it down, the practical challenge will be the narrow cowl. Maybe an inrunner? Flashback to Speed 400 days.

For an easier starting point, the old 1.1m Roc Strega used a 3748-770kv setup, which on an APC 12x12 E cut down to 10x12 had respectable tip speed for 4s. That would be an easy system to try, for mild speeds in the 80mph range, if I had to guess. FlightLine has a similar motor, as does Skynetic's Havok. Experimentation to find a good prop/thrust/amp balance is key.

Fair warning, running one of those motors on 5s isn't recommended and will void the warranty.

I appreciate the help guys, I was considering the E flight power 25 seeing how they put it in the shoestring which is essentially the same thing. I was worried if it would fit..
