Hey guys, I wanted to share a modification I did for my 800mm Corsair this weekend. I took the power system from my Eflite P-47, the 15 size motor and 30 amp ESC and fit it into my Corsair and the plane went from a 30 mph flier to a 60 mph plane. I know some people might wonder why I put such a large motor on it instead of a higher kv smaller can motor but two things, it was free and the extra weight of the motor and the 28g of weight I added under the tail makes this plane handle the wind better and it flies with a lot more authority. I'm using a 3s 1300mah 30C battery with a 9 x 6 2 blade prop, it's hitting 20-22 amps at full power at 230-255 watts. My flight time is 4-5 minutes with mixed flying and everything comes down cool to the touch. I still need to make it look pretty again but the pictures will show you what the motor and mount look like.
Make sure you have a decent prop angle to the right or it will flip over to the left as soon as you power up!!!! All I can say is this plane is a blast to fly now ....
