Hello all, I'm the happy new owner of a Bison - picked-up today from Motion RC in Illinois ! I read in the plane description that there were several improvements made to the plane with V2 in Aug 2022 ? However, the small white sticker on the outside of the cardboard shipping box said 5/2022 vs after Aug 2022? I've done a brief exam of the plane without taking anything out but I was able to see that the Tires were in fact glued to the Rims which was supposed to be one of the new upgrades. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't given older stock that wouldn't have listed upgrades (Aug 2022) Thanks for any input !

Le mien est vraiment une v2 , si les pneus sont collés c’est bon.

Mine is really a v2 , if the tires are glued it’s good.

Suppression des lattes avec débouchage des trous , posé des générateurs de vortex avec pose d’autocollants chromés, reste à peindre les générateurs
Demain je devrais recevoir le kit Unilight.

Changement des servos par des KST hv petits mais très performants, pas mal de travail pour les installer car ils sont plus petits. Je sépare les lumières des servos car j’ai commandé un kit Unilight avec 2 phares, 2 combinés rouge /blanc strobe , vert/blanc strobe, un feu rouge dessous et un blanc sur le dessus, je neutralise le feu arrière car trop de modifications.

Replacement of servos by small but very efficient KST hv, a lot of work to install them because they are smaller. I separate the lights from the servos because I ordered a Unilight kit with 2 headlights, 2 combination red/white strobe, green/white strobe, a red light below and a white on top, I neutralize the taillight because too many modifications.

J’ai commencé les modifications du Bison . J’ai remplacé l’ESC par un Hobbywing Platinum 100A que j’avais sur mon Edge 540 .
Difficile de bien voir sur les photos mais il est bien en place.

I started the Bison modifications. I replaced the ESC with a Hobbywing Platinum 100A I had on my Edge 540.

I've been looking at those Uni light systems, they seem very cool. So I'm curious to see what you'll think of it. It sounds like quite the retrofit you're giving the Bison. A very cool project. I am a big fan of Cub's, standard cubs, super cubs, carbon cubs. But the Bison has a very distinct bush plane styling as well. I'm eager to hear how your modifications go.

Un projet très intéressant. Je suis un grand fan des Cubs, des Cubs standard, des Super Cubs, des Carbon Cubs. Mais le Bison a également un style d'avion brousse très distinctif. J'ai hâte d'entendre comment se passent vos modifications.

Ma femme est française. Elle vient originairement de Paris et donc j'ai passé beaucoup de temps en France au fil des années. J'ai essayé d'apprendre le français au fil des années, mais elle a toujours été là pour me traduire. Et maintenant, elle roule des yeux au fait que j'utilise un programme de traduction au lieu de demander son aide ou de continuer mon étude du français. Je comprends assez bien, mais je ne parle pas ou n'écris pas assez bien.Merci, d'avoir partage!

Je connais bien Paris ,mon fils y a habité plusieurs années, moi j’habite à Nice sur la French Riviera (comme vous dites aux US)
pour le système Unilight j’attends de voir comment fonctionne le système sur le Bison v2 ,car ce système complet, avec changement des leds coûte plus de 200 €. Et aussi il faut que je vois comment l’installation a été faite sur le Bison ,je ne veux pas trop fragiliser la mousse Epeo.
En principe le colis doit arriver aujourd’hui,

Merci beaucoup pour vos encouragements cela me touche vraiment.
Bien sûr je posterai des photos sur le site.
Mes modifications seront un peu différentes après réflexions.
Voici comment je vois cela.

Pour les lumières je vais voir si le nouveau contrôleur fonctionne bien.
J’ai un jeu générateurs de vortex que j’avais avec mon ancien Carbon Z , que je vais peindre et monter sur le bison à la place des lattes.
Je vais voir si le moteur Dualsky qui est sur mon Gamebird EF va sur le bison.
Et bien sûr les 6 servos KST ms 589 brushless et à capteurs électroniques qui ont un retour au neutre parfait.
Peut être une double alimentation.
J’adore modifier mes avions (surtout les mousses ,en changeant les composants de médiocre qualité par des bons) ça m’occupe bien et ça m’oblige à réfléchir.

For the lights I will see if the new controller works well.
I have a vortex-generating game that I had with my old Carbon Z, which I will paint and ride on the bison instead of the slats.
I’ll see if the Dualsky engine on my Gamebird EF goes on the buffalo.
And of course the 6 servos KST ms 589 brushless and electronic sensors that have a perfect return to neutral.
Could be a double feed.
I love to modify my planes (especially the foams, by changing the components of mediocre quality by good ones) it keeps me busy and it forces me to think.

Je vous souhaite tout le meilleur pour votre opération. Ayant moi-même subi une intervention cardiaque majeure, j'ai une idée de ce que vous devez ressentir. Et maintenant, un an et demi après mon opération, j'espère que je peux être un exemple pour vous en gardant la foi et le courage que vous récupérerez et que vous serez meilleur grâce à cela. Je suis heureux que vous ayez décidé de prendre l'avion. Mes projets d'avion m'ont permis de penser positivement pendant le dernier an et demi. J'attends toujours avec impatience de voler ! C'est l'essence de la façon de voir la vie, un grand projet vers lequel nous pouvons toujours nous tourner, les épreuves et les tribulations ne sont que des choses mineures à réparer ou à contourner. Aujourd’hui j’ai commandé le Bison v2 chez Motionrc Europe, il devrait arriver lundi prochain, j’ai hâte de le monter, je vais faire quelques modifications.

Après avoir tout lu sur le Bison , je vous soumets la configuration que je veux adopter,
Je reste en 6s ,j’ai des 6s 3500 mAh
Je conserve le train et les pneus d’origine
j’ai un ESC Hobbywing Platinum 100A
J’ai 6 servos KST neufs
Pour les lumières j’ai un contrôleur Unilight que j’alimente directement avec une batterie Life
je monte aussi une Aura 8 que j’ai sur tout mes avions, car il y a toujours de vent chez nous.
je prévois sur l’Aura 8 un mode Crow pour effectuer des ascenseurs et du vol très lent ,avec je pense ne pas mettre les lattes ou les laisser en place fixe.
Voila ,qu’en pensez vous, je précise que j’ai l’habitude des aux grands angles et du 3D.
Je vais l’acheter mais pas dans l’immédiat car je dois subir une très grosse opération du cœur au printemps, donc quelques mois sans voler.

And I’m a grandfather of six grandchildren. I’ve read and watched all the posts and videos about the Bison, I think I’ll like it, home the terrain is quite small with no overflights, the lake and the road that borders it, a synthetic grass track 60 metres long by 8 metres wide and approaches bordered by high hillsides.

Je suis très intéressé par le Bison, car j'aime beaucoup le vol STOL ,j'ai eu pas mal d'avions de Brousse ( Cessna 170 Flex Innovations, Carbon Z Eflite, Bushmaster Extrême Flight) j'ai eu aussi des avions 3D Extrême Flight, j'ai 40 ans de modélisme. Et je suis grand père de 6 petits enfants. J'ai lu et visionné tous les posts et vidéos sur le Bison, je crois qu'il va me plaire, chez nous le terrain est assez petit avec des interdictions de survol , le lac et la route qui le borde, une piste en gazon synthétique de 60 mètres de long sur 8 de large et des approches bordées par de hautes buttes.

We used to use silicone grease as a vacuum grease. It'll be fine. On my old DRACO, when I had blow up balloon tires, I didn't put any pressure in the them. They held up the plane just on the tire sidewall strength alone.
I even run zero pressure in my tires on the fat bike.

Wesley recommends "Vaseline or lotion" for the tire valve stems to reduce leaking. Has anybody tried silicone grease? I don't think silicone will degrade the rubber over time.

Hello, I am new to the forum and have a question - I bought a Bison XT several months ago. Started assembling it last week and realize that the wing tip plates are missing. They are not available on Motion RC as an item to purchase. Does anyone have a drawing for these objects? I can make them from sheet fiber glass but need the basic shape to do so.

Have you checked all the packaging material in case they got lost in there? Also, check every nook and cranny of the box and the underside in case they got taped there. Have you contacted Motion customer service about this? Failing all this, you could make them out of plastic sheets or even foamboard if that's not too thick.
