  • How about a OV-10 Bronco or a OV-1 Mohawk

I gotta agree with Alpha's comment from over on the 1600 P-47 thread...... 02-02-2016, 02:48 PM
Hi PlaneCrazy, thanks for the suggestion, we'll add it to the list! FlightLineRC is a brand we're expanding to primarily develop model aircraft which so far have been rarely rendered (if at all) in our foam electric format.

With that being said, either the Bronco or Mohawk NEEDS some foamy luv because I think both of these definitely qualify to the rarely rendered philosophy.
The Bronco actually would be a no brainer with regards to how stable a platform it is both in the air and on the ground. These Nam era birds need some recognition and provide a little diversity from the WW2 niche.
All I can say to get people excited is this...... "Twins are Twice the Fun" !!!!

While the OV-1 is definitely a "unique" plane, I would want an OV-10 over that. :)

A Bronco or Mohawk would be awesome and look great with the EB-66C too. More Vietnam era birds would be a welcome change.....they are long overdue.

I would love to see either (or both) of these done in foam. I have always thought Sparky's short kit versions of these two aircraft outstanding kits ... Something I have always wanted to buy and build. But I have never pulled the trigger because don't think I would ever find the time to see the project through.

I actually saw a 1:1 OV-10 in the air yesterday. Just sayin'. ;)

Was it in the red/white CalFire or a more military livery? Either way I know that I would have gotten all warm and fuzzy from spotting it.:p

Not really sure. It was about 10 miles away on approach into Williams Gateway here in Mesa. But there is no mistaking the profile of an OV-10!

What about a 1600-1700mm Cessna Skymaster push-pull military version with retractable landing gear?

                  Hello Voodoo,
I like the O-2(337) Skymaster also because it was a twin performing FAC duties in Nam but it is not in the same class as a Bronco or Mohawk. It suffered rather high losses and was replaced with the Bronco. As OP of this thread I'd like to ask if you'd consider putting up a separate thread on the Skymaster so as not to convolute this thread for those doing searches or wanting to talk of a certain airframe.
                  Best regards,

(disclaimer: even though I know this individual has sometimes been known to have spread some misinformation)
Per Jim at Force RC, it appears that FMS is going to do a 1500mm(which is 1/8 scale) Bronco....see attached link.

Can't tell you guys how long I have waited for this and how long overdue it is that some of the Nam era prop warbirds get some recognition besides the Skyraider.
For all those that have the FLRC P-38(and I do), this my friends if FMS does the gear correctly will be a hands down winner in grass strip handling performance as well as being a great STOL performer and just an all around sweetheart of a twin to own. My wish is that they get the introduction price where it should be like FLRC did with the Lightning. So if you can't tell........I AM STOKED.
It would do my anxious heart some good if maybe Tom or Mark could possibly validate that this is really gonna happen ;)

Dang it! It might be another plane I "have" to have. I love my HobbyKing SkyMule and to me this would be a nicer SkyMule with retracts.
The part in red might be too political for this thread but .............................
I thought that Diamond Hobby failed to get the sole distributorship of FMS for N. America and hence, became ForceRC and that Horizon Hobby subsequently got it. I also thought that due to this, Diamond and FMS had a little falling out. Have they kissed and made up? How does Force RC know this stuff and how do they have any influence in what FMS plans to develop in the future? This Jim fellow talks like he's got the inside track on whatever FMS does. How can that be? (Curious minds and an FMS consumer, would like to know.)

An FMS OV-10 would be great, I'll get in line for that now. Maybe Flightline could do a nice O-2 to compliment the Bronco;-)

A week after my comment in post #11 about FMS was gonna do a Bronco the RCG thread was shut down and not a peep has been heard in close to 6 weeks later. So I am thinking it was just another "fluff" ordeal by that regime. Now that FlightLine has taken the reins as the lead dog of the pack with the Lightning and Tigercat and has drafted my allegiance to their product line it has become apparent to me that I need to start beating the drum for at least one iconic Viet Nam prop warbird be done besides the Skyraider. So starts the drumming of OV-10...................BRONCO - BRONCO - BRONCO (can ya hear me now Alpha ;) )
