Hello Ron1950,
The nose retract is different from the mains. Why Motion is not selling just the nose retract versus the 'Front Landing Gear System'
http://www.motionrc.com/fms-1400mm-t...g-gear-system/ which includes the retract, strut and wheel is probably something they should resolve.
Best regards,Warbird Charlie

Best regards,
Honestly, I'm with you. I've asked FMS for this many times over the years (for the old V3) and they always reply "the landing gear cannot be separated from the retract". I tell them nobody wants to buy an entire front landing gear strut with tire when all they need is a retract. Also, I don't want to buy a retract if I simply bent my front strut. To be honest, it was a massive victory to get them to sell the front separately from the rears and the main retracts separate from the main struts. They only wanted to sell an entire "landing gear system" which was the main struts, nose gear, and three retracts fully assembled. Imagine buying all this if you only needed one retract. We managed to talk them out of that a couple years ago but that was as far as we could ever get.

G'day Ron,
I have not yet seen a V4 but the doors on the V2 & V3 did sometimes require some adjustment to prevent the overlap situation.
If the set up is the same, the wire holding the oleo door needs to be adjusted until the overlap is right. It is a near miss but it is easy to do.
If it is the same, the wire will have like a U in the middle. You need to either gently squeeze it or widen it to suit.
It only takes a few cycles to get it right.
Hope this helps you out here.
Regards and respect
Daryl
Ron, I just checked out the wire and it has an esse bend not a U [Mustang has the U].
Same principle however. Bend or straighten as required.:D

G'day Ron,
The new job is great and I was solo on the irrigation system today for the first time and no smoke came out of any computer or solenoid so all was good that way!:D And I met the targets set.
There are seven irrigation systems on the property and my section has over four hundred thousand Raspberry plants in nine blocks. Each block is worth six million dollars. A stuff up is costly:p.
All in all I am having a good time at work.
I wonder what I will spend the pay rise on......I know........my baby boy Johnathans' new FMS V4 Trojan. Dad will just have to maiden it and take two hundred flights to trim it out for him;).
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!!!!
Regards and respect
Daryl

G'day Ron,
I have found that my V2 and V3 T-28's are much more 'fuel efficient' then any other FMS model in my hanger.
I have recorded flight times of eight minutes at mixed flying on 3000 mAh batteries and still landing with 3.80 per cell.
This is out of focus so to speak with what looks like a portly fuselage and stubby wings. Most people would think that the Mustangs would get better flight times but I do not find that to be the case at all.
I have done eight minutes with a P-51 but it hurt the battery a bit. I was being MR nice guy and letting other pilots land until I simply had to say 'my turn.'
I now have plenty of 3600 batteries so I will be interested in the difference if any, in the flight time and remaining voltage.
But not for a couple of weeks as I concentrate on the Mustangs until June. [Going to an all electrickery show in early June and the Mustangs are going to rested after this show]
Regards and respect
Daryl

just for anyones info...had a steering servo go bad on my v4(not fms fault I did it lol) anyway, its a metal gear 9g servo...doesent show one on the spare parts list just a plastic gear one....17g is slightly too big to fit in the hole in nose gear bay...so far so good with the plastic gear 9g servo but have ordered several new 9g metal gears jobs just in case....btw iam not stupid or whatever I just didn't bother to take old one out before I ordered new one and the guy at motion didn't know which servo it was,,,,

Can someone that has the FMS 1400mm T28 V4 please post a clear picture of the front nose gear housing with the gear extended? I had to order a replacement housing, and did not take notice to what connects to what to open the doors when the gear go down. Also, working with motion rc on the issue now, but just an FYI gear housing box is listed as a V3 / V4 replacement, is a pretty poor V4 replacement. The cut out for the steering servo hole is offset about an inch off from where it should be.....so I was told you either have to cut a new hole in for the servo or use another longer push rod to make up the difference. Also, there is no raised molded plastic that the retracts screw into (they are looking into this).3 Photos
