Thanks guys. Unfortunately there are no Menards stores here. I checked Lowes also, but they didn't have it locally. It looks like ordering it online would be the way to go at first, and if I like the spray then I'll get the case sold locally to have more of it when needed for other airplanes.

"REAL" is not the correct way to describe the aircraft. FULL SCALE is the correct term as models are real too.

After drying, the Helmsman spray did Amber the white foam, although not nearly as noticeable as the white plastic around the canopy. So, I'll have to respray that lightly with a white pearl to hide the Amber coloring. It's not a big deal, but I won't be using the Helmsman spray any longer. I'll have to try the Varathane spray mentioned earlier because if I can get the durability and UV protection and no ambering at the same time, it's a win-win.

Here is how it turned out (I haven't fixed the ambering that occurred from the clear coat though, but will soon with the white pearl....which I'm a little annoyed about, but that's how things turn out sometimes, ha-ha-ha :D).

T-CAT, drag about the Helmsan. You read my mind on the black edging. I just have it on the elevator, but you've got me thinking. Also painted black over the decals on the engine cover, will try to airbrush some custom looking exhaust on later. Put some Ferrari red on the nose. If it's as fast as all that, might have to put a black stallion on it. Smile Enzo.

Great call on the black accents too! I love black on red, as it looks great to me and like the contrast. This would actually be a great plane with Ferrari red in mind, and actually a red and yellow Ferrari color scheme. I can't wait to see pics of yours when complete.

Looks really cool! I may have to tinker with the scheme myself. Having such a blast flying her lately!

Thanks! I haddddd to black out the canopy. The Nemesis NXT has a tinted canopy, but that's a pain to paint, so I went with a blackout. The clear canopy looks horrible, but that's subjective :D.

T-CAT, progress slowed greatly due to work and flyimg instead of building. Still learning how to paint Styrofoam, and my airbrush doesn't like me again, so i went with Tamiya aircraft cans instead to save time ( I thought!). Tried a couple ideas, outsmarted myself a couple times, and wound up with this so far. Kind of sloppy, but learning a lot.

As you know, the other clear spray I tried yellow the foam. So......, since the yellow was mainly bad on the topside center, I resprayed that area white (and added some pearl too it too), then added some black pinstriping on the front and sides. You can definitely tell the foam (and a little yellow from what I did not cover with white paint) from the white paint, but I didn't want to go through and have to paint around the stock red pattern, etc. It's time to fly the darn thing and not keep painting it. Since my plane stand had another plane on it, I improvised and used a highly sophisticated trash can to hold the plane for pictures. LOL ;) :D

First try at a custom paint job for a foamy. Yikes, what an experience! As I shared with T-Cat, it's like playing tennis on asphalt your whole life, than switching to clay. Learned a lot, thanks for the great advice on the side T-Cat. I was about ready to put the fuse into the wood chipper, but i will probably try to keep fixing on it for a while. Better luck next time. Don't look too close.

It seems that T-CAT and Westsider are becoming paint experts. I'm curious you two. I've seen some AMAZING paint schemes for the NXT Nemisis. If I wanted to completely redo the paint scheme, what would be the best way to do it?

My wife can't stop laughing at that. No expert on foam painting Ace, you must mean T-Cat. He has been hooking me up with great advice, I just keep stowing it in the bank but not using it. I have seen multiple cool paint schemes on line of this bird. Unfortunately, didn't think to check that out until after I had committed vandalism. Would think hot rod flames tucked into the existing lines might be a natural. I might as well had the dogs paint it with their tails. Got so disgusted with my eyes and hands, went a different direction. Did send a request to Callie to see if she could take some of my mess and clean it up.
She said she will try it, maybe even my hero, the Scotsman. Jack does alright too I guess...

Looked at that yellow bird with my new (1st ever ) set of glasses. Now that plane needs a Ferrari emblem. Too cool!

Finally stopped petting this bird and let it off the tethers this weekend. Six flights on Saturday, Six flights Sunday. Flew it back to back with the F4G Corsair, P-39 Airacobra, and the P-40B in series today, Six flights per plane. Very impressed. On slow passes this plane just looks hungry to me, like it's trolling for something to bite and shake the life out of. Full speed passes are a blast, faster than the other planes I mentioned, with no performance mods to any. Lands like a trainer though. Kind of schizophrenic. Could be the perfect plane for me. Jekyl and Hyde, man;).
