Hey if it's like out at our field they also seat 4 when no planes are on them.

All the ones at our field are like the ones you see everywhere, rickety old design that's on the AMA site which was designed for back in the fuel days. I wanted these to have plenty of room for tool/battery box or even multiple planes.

Very nice work on the flight stands TI, definitely looks more rigid and practical than most. Not at all like the average club ones that you hear cracking if you lean on them, and much more storage.

Hey TI. If pool noodles aren't available, then you can also use the foam insulation wrap for PVC pipe.

That stuff just doesn't hold up as well as the noodles, and the noodles don't have a seam.

Two plane benchs 8' X 2'
1 - 4' X 8' X 1/2" Treated Plywood
2 - 4" x 4" X 8' Treated Posts
6 - 2" x 6" X 8' Treated Boards
64 - 3-1/2" Coated Screws
32 - 1-5/8" Coated Screws
1 - 10" 3/4" PVC Pipe
2 - 3/4" PVC Pipe Caps

Cut the plywood in half,
Cut four 2X6 at 93-1/4"
Cut four 2X6 at 24"
Cut four 2X6 at 24"
Cut eight 4X4 at 24"
Cut four PVC sections at 24"
Front legs are centered 24" from front edge.
Holes for the PVC are 1" drilled 4" deep 24" from the front edge and 3" from side which puts it in the center of the 4X4 post.
Total cost was $80 (not including radio hangers).

One of the guys at our field just made a new starting stand. He included wheels for maneuverability, an adjustable height 3rd leg for uneven ground, and the upright wing posts can be moved to accommodate varying widths of planes.

No problem, pretty cheap for two tables that will outlast most of us.

One last feature...I made one post on each table removable so you can scoot them together for one large scale table or put them them back for two normal size planes.

I moved my old vintage frig out to the hanger, it will come in handy this summer during the fly-ins.

No doubt, I had it in my 1955 Spartan Imperial Mansion (Built by the Spartan Aircraft Company which built many of the B-24 Liberators).

Lol, I don't mean to taunt...what I trying to do is start a local RC community that isn't just a bunch of old grumpy pattern fliers but rather a group that welcomes all types of fliers both young and old, novice and expert and give them a fun place to fly, work on their planes and just hangout. We have a few people that have just seen us flying from the highway and stopped in to see what's going on that are now AMA members and are now enjoying the addiction.

I absolutely love to teach new pilots and see them excited when they solo, recently a 70 year old Native American Vietnam Veteran who suffers from physical and emotional issues related to his service came by and shared that he had joined a club wanting to learn to fly but no one really made an effort to help him. Needless to say it was an honor for us to help him and within 3 or 4 lessons he's flying on his own, he shared that it's the most joy and freedom he's experienced in decades...This! is why we do it.
